Not bad

Posted 29-Jun-2015
Pros: Good location for what I needed. Comfortable bed, nice staff.
Cons: Needs a little infrastructure TLC
Location: High Street is nearby.
Good location for what I needed, but the area is difficult to navigate by car, with heavy traffic. I didn't find a nice running route, but the High Street was close by for shops and pubs. My room was on the side of the busy road, and the traffic noise was loud all night, even with the windows closed. The bathroom shower, sink, and toilet had weak water pressure. The bed was comfortable. The hotel was clean and the staff were nice. It just needs a little attention.

Dark, depressing and noisy

Posted 22-Jun-2015
Pros: The hotel staff are the only good thing about this hotel.
Cons: The decor, the heating/cooling, cleanliness.
Location: The hotel is bang in the middle of an average looking street, car parking is bad. Thankfully it was very close to Watford High Street.
We arrived to a very warm welcome from hotel staff, who were very eager to help at any chance they got, however from here it just went down hill. Thank god we only stayed for one night. Our room overlooked something to do with the air conditioning and the sound of a generator could be heard all night. The rooms were overly warm and as there was no heating control we had to either suffer the warmth or listen to the noise of generators. The walls were so terribly thin that we could hear the people next to us and above us talking, and the noise of people stomping along the corridor and slamming doors was horrendous. The rooms were in keep with the rest of the hotel, dark, depressing and very dated. The dark wooden cladding in all of the corridors really doesn't help. All in all, we couldn't wait to leave this hotel and it was a big mistake ever staying there.

Last minute stay

Posted 27-Feb-2015
The staff was a bit abrupt as he believed there wasby a room for me until I had to repeatedly tell him and show him the reservation and asked to double check twice... not very customer friendly. Furniture a Little outdated but big room

Convenient location

Posted 14-Dec-2014
Pros: It's location is very central and convenient to London which is only 15minutes train ride away.
Cons: I couldn't get the water temperature constant on the mixer shower attachment over the bath it was either cold or ver hot.
I stayed in a twin room the bed was very comfortable and it was lovely to have a settee to sit and relax on after travelling all day. The room was warm and comfortable.

Nice hotel in quiet area, 45 minutes from London

Posted 30-Aug-2014
Pros: space and comfort, good and friendly service.
Location: 45 minutes by rail to the main London underground network. Railway station at walking distance. Located in a nice and quiet area in Watford.
Very comfortable hotel, good breakfast. The wooden floor (and ceiling) creaked a little too much at times with myself and guests in other rooms walking about, but I did sleep well.

White House Hotel - very close to town.

Posted 29-Jul-2014
Pros: Free wifi and central in town.
Cons: It was extremely hot weather and having the windows open at night did not help. There is no air con.
Location: It is within walking distance of shops, bars and restaurants. There is a gym near that you can use. Great location.
A very pleasant hotel. Rooms were nice, staff were friendly and provided me with Wifi code and ice to take to my room. I did not eat in, but it was very close to town for bars and restaurants and shops! I stayed for two nights and the hotel was better than I expected. I would use it again when visiting friends in Watford.
