There are shops locally but we took what we needed for our stay so we could get away from everything. We ditched the car and walked everywhere. "The property owners were great and made sure our arrival was welcoming with great info and welcome pack. The property is a unique original cottage with hone comforts and incredible view. There are some great walks and lots of activities nearby and a visit to ye older ferrie inn is a must. As with anywhere in this area to get the most you have to prepared to be a bit active and there are a few steps required to get down to the cottage but definitely worthwhile. "We had a wonderful stay at this charming and unique coach house. Everything was just wonderful, all the MOD cons, wonderful, shower and comfortable beds not to mention cozy fireplace. Great location for day trips and nice and quiet in the evenings. Beautiful grounds to wander around. Fantastic communication with the host. "I've tried to speak with the owner before posting this but have had no reply. Beautiful location completely spoilt by the classic/abandoned cars in the front garden making it unsafe for children and dogs. Field next door is similarly blighted. This spot is a blot on the otherwise beautiful scenery. 2 cookers both in need of deep and thorough clean. 1 grill and 1 oven not working. Fridges and surfaces clean. "Lovely stay at the bungalow. Three friends on a singing weekend nearby. It was very well equipped, clean and peaceful. A drainer rack for the sink would be useful and the mattresses were a little ‘tired’. Nevertheless it was great for us and we would stay there again."

"We had a wonderful time. The property has everything you could need including thoughtful extras like milk, bread, tea and coffee on arrival. Property owner is lovely and easily contactable. There is a lovely place to sit outside with amazing views. Hay-on-Wye is literally an 8 minute drive away and lives up to its name of a bookish town. One of our favourite get always and I can’t recommend enough!"

"Such a delightful stay -cosy, exceptionally clean cottage with everything we needed. Lovely quite location although you are unable to work anywhere due to the roads but lovely pubs in just a short drive away. The welcome hamper was gorgeous abs such a lovely surprise!"

"We arrived to a warm welcome and homemade cakes which got our weekend off to a great start. Garden Cottage has everything you need for a comfortable stay and breakfast on the patio looking towards Ross on Wye was a wonderful way to start our days. The walk to Ross on Wye takes between 20-30 minutes depending on your pace and has a few half way attractions, the historical Wilton Bridge and Wilton Castle, so the stroll seems to take no time at all.
