5/5 Excellent
"Nice decorating but the outside spoil it .It could do with a repaint looking shabby. "
"The hotel overall was very good from check in to check out. Our room was spacious, decor was in keeping with the rest of the hotel. Large bathroom with very nice powerful shower. The location was perfect for the lake and other amenities in Bowness just being a few minutes walk away. Breakfast was nice good choice and excellent service. Would definitely recommend. "

"Room as shown on photograph. Only issue we had was with the door, very difficult to open/lock. Room was clean overall but the carpets had a few stains on them. Bed was comfy and shower powerful. Nice place for a short stay near the lake."
"Very comfortable hotel with lovely gardens, and good breakfast. Staff were friendly, parking plentiful, and walkable to Lake Windermere and the shops/restaurants in Bowness on Windermere. Enjoyed the birds inhabiting the gardens - get a window table for breakfast to enjoy the birds while you eat."

"Absolutely stunning views from the room. The staff were amazing and went above and beyond to accommodate a different room for my 1 year old son. I was given a room with a 4 poster bed and requested one without this. The manager showed me 3 different rooms one of which was a family room (even though I only booked a double room) just to cater to my request. She was patient and allowed me to choose a room I ended up going with the original room given to me as the views were beautiful and not once was she annoyed. She was patient and asked for housekeeping to attend and do up the sofa bed. Overall staff were lovely. This was a last minute stay and I would definitely return and recommend to friends and family "

"Lovely hotel with lots of original features. Rooms were spotless, good decorative standard and the beds are so comfortable. Air conditioning and heating you can control yourself. DH Lawrence stayed there once. Good location, free parking, near to shops, but not too close. They do the best bourbon Ive ever tasted and lots of different drinks like English vodka.
Only thing Id rate less than 5 stars was the night porter who I just found a bit difficult, not that helpful and a little odd, but that is only my opinion!"

"Really enjoyed this weekend away. We had a family room which had 2 singles and a double, it was a very large room with gorgeous high ceiling and window overlooking the road quiet location. The staff were all lovely and very welcoming. Enjoyed having access to the pool which the kids loved. Sauna, steam room and jacuzzi all hot which is sometimes missing in some venues.
Breakfast was buffet and no complaints.
I would say my only gripe was the kids menu in the restaurants, its £15 for 2 courses which for us is expensive when you have multiple children and out of touch to other restaurants. Our children shared a meal as we new they wouldnt of finished 1 each, it just felt a rip off to be honest when they had such reasonable offers on the adult menu. We had the 4 tapas deal which felt really good value so it was shame the kids meal deal was so much.
We would still stay here again "
