“Perfect place to relax and explore the New Forest”
Everything - including staff helpfulness and in particular the food in the Armada restaurant was top quality. Been three timers before and will definitely go again!
“Poor service and in need of renovation”
We stayed at the Rhinefield overnight for a wedding and I would definitely not recommend this hotel! The two main problems are the attitude of the staff and the condition of the rooms. The staff are demotivated and openly unhappy. I did not see a smile from anyone the entire time we were there, in fact all the way through the wedding breakfast the staff stood in the corner looking grumpy - not what you want to see at a wedding. The following morning I was ushered out of the breakfast room reserved for the wedding party (they were not ready at 8.50am!) and told to go to the standard breakfast room instead. When I got there the person in charge snapped at me that I was in the wrong place. With my 1 year old in my arms I walked back to the wedding party breakfast room and waited a further 45 minutes for the hot breakfast, coffee, toast, plates etc. to be brought across from the other room. When the food eventually came across it was cold! As for the condition of the rooms, the decor is dated, wall paper is peeling off the walls and the bathroom, although probably clean, looks dirty because the grouting has turned brown. My overall impression of the hotel is that it's set in a beautiful location it's just a shame that the staff and place need renovating!
“GREAT”
We have a lovely stay and could not find a fault we are going back and taking our family - it is so restful and the Staff are wonderful. We loved Rufus!
“Will certainly go back”
Been here before and will certainly go again - excellent location and facilities and the staff are always helpful - definitely a must-go-back-to hotel
“Enjoyable stay”
The hotel is in a beautiful setting and full of character. The staff were very helpful and courteous. The accommodation is in a modern block attached to the hotel. We enjoyed our meals in both the bistro and the main restaurant.
“Great place to go for a weekend.”
Great hotel, good clean room, good food. Set in a wonderful location. I would recommend this place to all.
“Beautiful quiet setting fit for a princess”
This is the second time that we have stayed at the Rhinefeild house. It is my 10 year old daughters favorite place. She loves driving by the wild horses. She loves the gardens and the afternoon tea and that she can go to the desk and loan movies at no charge. We will be back again and again. Sometime I would like to go back without my daughter for a romantic get away.
“Outstanding hotel in fabulous surroundings”
The Reinefield House Hotel is a fabulous place to stay right in the heart of the New Forest. As you drive up the tree- lined avenue towards the hotel you can't help but be srtruck by its palatial appearance as it comes into view. The service was outstanding, the rooms very comfortable and the facilites exteremely good. I can certainly see why so many peaople have chosen this hotel as the venue for their weeding. If we were looking for somewhere to stay in the New Forest in future, I would have no hesitation in stayng at this hotel again.
“Wonderful hotel”
The reviewer who gave this a 2 out of 5 must have got really unlucky, or be incredibly fussy. We stayed here for a wedding and it was a fantastic hotel. The room was very well fitted and spacious, and had extra benefits like a TV set back into the wall in the bathroom It is in a fabulous location and a wonderful old building. We will be going back
“A good weekend retreat”
The setting is lovely being set in the middle of the New Forest, away from the main A35 at the end of an ornamental tree lined drive. The house looks as you'd expect from the pictures with a formal garden to the rear. On arrival, the staff were friendly and your bags are taken to your room with a tour of the various interior features on the way for you explore once you've unpacked and have got your camera. Rooms are fairly small but well equipped with Plasma screen TV and DVD player in addition to the usual luxuries. The price with Expedia discount was very reasonable. The Armada Restaurant is superb but quite expensive. The menu is listed at 45 per person, but even at that price there is a 6.50 supplement for the beef. The wine list starts at about 23 per bottle and goes up to 590 for a 1952 Bordeaux. Our meal for two with a 28 bottle of wine came to 128. The service as you would expect - was spot on. Formal without being too stuffy. Great place for a weekend away.
