This was a delightful place to stay! A single room, it had everything I would want - and the service was excellent. Very attentive but not intrusive staff. The breakfast basket was terrific. I always appreciate having coffee, water and a robe!

Our stay at The Pines Inn and Cottages was nothing short of exceptional! The cabin we stayed in was incredibly cozy, impeccably clean, and provided the perfect retreat. Its proximity to Grass Valley downtown made exploring the area a breeze. Tony, our host, went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction throughout our stay. We can't recommend this gem enough and are already planning our next visit. Thank you for an unforgettable experience!

A really nice motel, not glitzy, just quiet, comfortable and room was really comfortable and clean, retro appliances (new), room was quite attractive and affordable, close to downtown Grass Valley. Enjoyed the outdoor furnishings, chairs, lounge, tables, a bar under mini tent, and enjoyed the low classical Spanish guitar music playing around the “bar” area. Highly recommend

Such a pleasant stay! The staff was very accommodating, friendly, and efficient. Our cottage was quaint and had a nice homey feeling with a lot of personal touches. I recommend staying at the Pines Inn and Cottages.

This is an old roadside motel that has been remodeled into a cute boutique hotel - almost a B & B. The rooms are smartly decorated and beautifully appointed. I would recommend anyone to stay here.

Adorable little place!!
Stayed a few nights with my husband while in the are. It is absolutely adorable and very well put together. My only thing is I’d have loved a hook in the bathroom and maybe a tiny fold down shelf for my make up. Bath robe, slippers, breakfast basket, ice…. Everything was thought of.

Awesone Place tp Stay.
Always a pleasure staying here. Megan was awesome and very courteous. Anytime I visit Grass Valley the Pines is my go to. They're extremely pet friendly, and the continental breakfast is always a nice touch.

Great Getaway
Super sweet cottage hotel - was perfect for a quick getaway. All the extra touches were so nice! An outside fire pit, custom eggnog offered around the first, nice continental breakfast - it all just terrific! Shout out to Megan for being so welcoming

This place is a gem! It is so cute for two people. The staff are so helpful. They have thought of little details to make your stay complete. They bring you a small breakfast of your choice. I had the make your own pancakes (enough for two ppl) and my husband had the yogurt, granola and fruit. We will stay here again!!!!

The team at Pines (Megan especially) were so lovely. We drove up from LA and knew we were going to get in late. They set up the room, including breakfast for the next morning, and processed payment. We were able to walk in to a clean, warm, beautiful room with food after a long drive. We want to come back again and explore the grounds, "honor" bar and rest of the property.

One Night Stayover.
Upon arriving, the exterior looks a little sketchy but I think some of that was the tree leaves that were all over. They might have had some weather blow through I don't know. The rooms are nice and clean, Kitchen area was fine too. The staff was spot on helpful and friendly. The website states that it is within walking distance to town. I wouldn't want to walk it. I would stay there again.

Thank you Terrance for taking time to write a review. You’re right we had a couple windy days and being Fall it’s difficult staying leaf and pine needle free. We sure try. It’s 6 blocks or 1/2 mile to historic downtown. It’s such a pretty walk if you like Victorian houses and 1860’s architecture but it is a little uphill coming back. If you get in some wine tasting the hill isn’t bad. We hope you can visit again!

Quaint little place with great atmosphere. Not far from town. Walkable. There was a tail-less cat that visited. Everyone I dealt with was friendly. The place was clean. A lovely experience. My only regret is that I didn't stay for more than a day.

Loved this quaint little property! The managers were amazing. Allowed me to check in early for a wedding and we’re so sweet about it. They bring you a cute little snack to the room too for breakfast. Would definitely stay here again if I was in the area! Our room was perfect for just my husband and I. Kitchen had everything too! Highly recommend!

This property is amazing! My wife and I stayed in the one bedroom cottage this time. What a treat! It's like staying at a B&B. James was a fantastic host. The bagels and fruit left in our room for breakfast were delightful. Plenty of amenities to choose from. There is a hammock, a gazebo with relaxing music, cornhole and patio swings. The location is close to downtown, but it is on a main drive, so traffic can be a bit noisy. That being said, looking forward to spending more time here in the future.

Happy with the stay
Older but nice, especially for Grass Valley. Everything there is older. Wedding guests spent some time on the grounds of the hotel. Very nice.
