“Nice Hotel good location”
This hotel was handy for everything, including places to eat and drink, bar was good prices little steep but thats to be expected
“A good hotel in a very good location.”
The Melia is a good hotel in a pleasant, well situated area of the city, with good views to the Alhambra from the higher floors. Our room was very comfortable and clean, although we did have to ask for a top up of some of the bathroom necessities. The breakfast was a buffet with a good range of hot and cold food, cheese, ham, fruit, and pastries or an english style cooked breakfast if that's what you prefer. it's expensive though and there are lots of good cafes nearby where you could eat churros or breakfast for a lot less money. The staff we encountered were mostly friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay here and would use this hotel again.
“Good service and excellent situation”
If going travelling by car and you have never been to Granada before get the maps out and be prepared to be frustrated by the road system.
“Good Choice for Sightseeing”
A modern hotel of not very distinguished design, the Melia is nevertheless well situated for sightseeing. It is in a pleasant, arcaded street in a well maintained city centre neighbourhood. We downgraded the hotel on cleanliness because in the two rooms we occupied there was evidence that the vacuum cleaning did not extend very regularly to the edges and corners. The two rooms - well this explains downgrading the maintenance. Part way through our stay we had to change rooms after we had retired to bed because we discovered water leaking through the ceiling light fitting from the floor above. The emegergency was handled swiftly and competently by the staff, as were our request for extra pillows and for help with the internet, so we have no real cause for complaint.
“great if you like sleeping on concrete”
Everything about this hotel was wonderful except the bed and the pillow. I think that the sidewalk would have been more comfortable. We went out and bought our own pillows so we could at least try to sleep. However trying to sleep anywhere in Spain is impossible. These are the craziest noisiest people I have ever seen. They litterally party and have parades with bands and drums all night long until 6 am. Spanish food is horrible also. If you are wondering weather to go to Spain DO NOT. Go to Italy and france and Austria instead. Much better food and normal quiet people.
“Good choice in Granada”
The Melia Granada was very nice. We really liked the convenient location and our room was fine. The staff was helpful and many spoke English. We had no complaints and would definitely stay at the Melia Granada again if we return to Granada.
“Spanish Christmas delight”
The hotel was a complete surprise, perfectly appointed with everything the traveller could have wished for. We loved the proximity to the vibrant city centre which at this time of year was fantastically "Christmassy" without being over commercialised or tacky. Despite the rpoximity to the Puerta Real and city centre we were untroubled by any kind of noise. If we twisted our necks we could see the Alhambra. A short(ish) walk away and not to be missed
“Overpriced, not 4 star”
There is no sound proofing whatsoever of the rooms. I could hear everything from the next rooms, as well as all noise from outside. While checking in, I overheard staff advising another guest that they would not get tickets for La Alhambra for the next day and the only way they could go was through a tour they could book through the hotel for €50. I went that next day and got a ticket at midday for €13. They also charge €4 for 1/2 hour internet. It felt like they were trying to make money off their guests, which you would not expect from a 4 star hotel. While this hotel is in a good location, there are plenty of other hotels around. I'm sure there are better deals at these hotels. This one is not worth the price unless you get an excellent deal.
“A Good Quality Central Hotel”
We arrived on a Sunday in the middle of the biggest religous festival imagineable and although I had route maps to the hotel, many streets were closed and others impassable because of the huge crowds. I rang ahead to the hotel and the desk staff were brilliant, giving me clear directions in English to the car park nearest the hotel. Problem solved! On arrival the staff were all helpful and friendly, and our room was great. The city itself is a little lacklustre in places but we were there to see the Alhambra and it is well worth the trip. However, best to pre-book a tour and I would'nt recommend trying to walk up the hill from the hotel!
“Good Base”
The Melia Granada is a good central base for exploring Granada. Plenty of local cafes and restaurants within walking distance as alternatvie to hotel facilities. Garage parking nearby, organised by the hotel, but a bit expensive.
