Nothing , the pool and music at the night time was the ONLY thing convenient! It NEEDS A WHOLE LOT IMPROVEMENT. THERE NEEDS TO BE A UPGRADE ON THE PROPERTY AND ROOMS. ESPECIALLY THE CLEANING!. WOULDN'T STAY THERE AGAIN.

View of ocean was great! Old hotel that was trying to redo inside and was cute and clean. Beds were comfortable. But, they need to replace the door. Weather and time has done real damage to them. Daylight showed all around the door and didn’t feel safe. Top floor is best for viewing ocean but for those that can’t do stairs don’t bother.

How quiet it was and how nice all the staff is! I have a 2 and half year old and it’s super safe and the beds are very comfortable. The sink bath room area to is set up like a vanity! You won’t be disappointed staying here: we will be back very soon!

Right across from the beach, beautiful pool and hot tub. The bar by the pool is great, with plenty of seating. Our rooms were beautifully updated, however the bathtub floor moved when you stepped in - it wasn't supported properly before installation. Also, or rooms were upstairs, and there is no elevator, which was difficult for my disabled mother and our luggage. But overall we really liked the property and would stay there again.

Property was dated, room and common area was not very clean, beer can were in the pool, loud music was playing most of the day, our room door barely latched shut and could see daylight through the gaps all the way around the door.

Working on electrical issues. Had to move room to back. Which was fine we were just staying there because our mother had to be at tumbling for 6am the following day. We just needed a place to sleep and shower. Staffing was very nice and helpful.

Property is outdated has carpet that needs to be replaced, smell in room, room was clean but could do better. Rooms had very small bathroom and bathroom door was warped on bottom needs replacing. Bathrooms by pool were gross and dirty worse than a public bathroom. Pool chairs n bar area tables were dirty. Staff do not clean up area garbage everywhere. Would not bring family here worst place I’ve ever been to

Clean enough for a one night stay before getting on the ship. Nice to have the beach across the street, comfortable enough beds. But it’s a loud place, people eating food in the hot tub and pool grossed me out (think French fries floating around in hot bubbly water) so I avoided going in. Pool is nice but not heated so quite cold. Staff was friendly and helpful, bathrooms are run down and old water presser was not great. Food at the bar/restaurant was great.

Gaidos was pretty much what I expected. Great location but a little run down. It's an incredible location! It's right across the street from the ocean and walking distance to many restaurants and the pier. The beds were incredibly comfortable and the sheets weren't scratchy. The lady at check in was very nice but made it clear that she was the only one working in case we needed more towels or anything. Being understaffed seemed to be a theme in Galveston. Gaidos is an old property so I expected some things to be dated, which can be charming. What I didn't like was the area with the toilet and tub. The toilet seat didn't have a cover so I was concerned towels would drop in the toilet. The tub seems like a cheap "rebath" It was flimsy acrylic and crackled when you moved your feet. The door had wood that was peeling. One of the ceiling tiles appeared to have a paper towel stuffed in it. The carpet in the room did not match the pastel beach theme. The oddest thing in the room was that it had a very large dresser but the doors were locked on it so it was useless. The pool area was pleasant with lots of lounge chairs. There is a poolside bar with a fish shaped jacuzzi next to it. The jacuzzi was foamy with debris on top of the foam which grossed me out a bit. Don't forget to bring your own towels. Overall Gaidos was good and the price was reasonable.

This was our favorite hotel! The attention to details made it feel so inviting! We loved how quiet the rooms are, the beds, location, flowers, books, chairs, cleanliness.... to many things to mention! The front desk and breakfast staff was very friendly and welcoming! We will be back and have already been recommending the hotel to our friends and family.

Stayed here for one night before departing on a cruise. Great nearby restaurant for dinner. Room appeared to be updated, it wa very clean and nice. Pool area looked great, if you have kids with you. Breakfast, was included, but has a lot of room for improvement.

The room that we were put in did not in any way compare to the photos on the website. The carpet was moldy, wet, filthy, and overall in terrible shape. The bathroom door was so warped that it would not close all the way. The breakfast was just mediocre at best, but then again, it was a free breakfast.
