“Acceptable for price”

Not extremely clean or kept up but for the price it was ok. The property was not great but the staff was pleasant and helpful.

“The Worst”

While I realized by the low cost of this reservation that I should not expect to have any luxuries; I never would have thought that cleanliness, professionalism, and safety would be an issue. This hotel is very run-down, furnishings, bed linens, bathroom conditions were all in the very worst of shape. We attempted to check-in well after the posted check in time but were told that the majority of the rooms had not been cleaned yet and so we were assigned a room at the very rear of the property with an exterior door backing up to the woods and caretaker facilities. We were told this was the only room available. After dealing with smell, the fear, and disgust for about an hour....we checked out, forfeited our money for the room and went to another hotel a block down the road.

“Hotel was extremely dirty lobby did not leave a good impression!!! Disappointed”

As we entered the motel the lobby area it was very dirty. We questioned if we should stay there and were worried about the condition of the room, especially if the lobby looked the way it did. The room smelled of smoke even though it was no smoking. we were afraid to take our socks off, everything appeared to be soiled. I will say this we did not get coutties! But for a Howard Johnsons It did not give them a good reputaion. Also the printer near the computer did not operate after we tried to get our airline tickets printed. it should have been posted that the printer didnot operate! The clerk did help us by printing on her computer. I must say all the personal were very helpful.

“clean, comfortable room”

We stayed during darlington race weekend. Rooms were comfortable, clean and staff was friendly. Lots of constuction going on so the restaurant next door was not open. Good value for the money.

“Do Not Stay here”

The first room we were given was filthy dirty. There was mold and standing water in the bathroom. When we asked for a different room, the desk clerk was very snotty. The next room was better but not by much. The hotel itself is in need of an update and a good cleaning. When checking out the next morning, I stated my complaints and the desk clerk was extremely rude. I will never stay here again.

“Not impressed”

Only adult breakfast was included. My sixteen year old son wasn't allowed a complementary breakfast???? That was very disapointing as I purposely choose a hotel for the reason of not wanting to have to worrie about the cost of breakfast or finding a place to eat.

“Don't stay here!”

Old hotel, very outdated - sheets were threadbare, the binding on the blanket was coming off and there were holes in the blanket. The room was clean, but the bath and counters had been resurfaced and looked awful. The shower was so bad I wouldn't take a shower in there. The walkways were dark and the lights turned off when we came back from dinner. Very scary.

The hotel was old and not well maintained. However, staff was friendly and very accomodating.
