“classy hotel”

A very comfortable, classy hotel with fabulous views over the bay. Perect location, for golf, walks and shopping. Very polite, friendly staff, welcoming and very attentive. Cant wait to go back

“Warm welcome and beautiful views”

Stayed with my son for an open day at the university. Large comfortable room with a stunning view of golf course and beach, very generous bathroom. Staff cheerful and welcoming. And three enormous sitting rooms with open fire, massive comfy sofas and a selection of newspapers--bliss!

“Traveller”

This hotel is in a very good location & is a beautiful building, the views from the back of the hotel are spectacular. We booked a double room & were very disappointed as they gave us a room with two single beds attached to each other - not ideal!!!! Our bathroom was nice but the grout in the shower was black!! Not just a little bit but all over - haven't they heard of mould & mildew?!?! It was a bit off putting & disappointing for a four star hotel!! The staff were all very pleasant & we enjoyed our stay

“Highly recommended!”

Really nice stay. We were there to play at the Old Course and this was absolutely perfect location. Especially enjoyed breakfast in the dining room overlooking the 1st and 18th hole on the Old Course. Staff was great!

Area recommendations

St Andrews is a relitively small town and any part of the city seemed fine to me. I do think the the hotels right up against the Old Course seemed like the best choice if you're there to golf.

i have already suggested this hotel to friends. one of the best hotel experiences that i have had. wonderful place.

the golf courses are amazing! also the town has tons of historical points of interest. the people there are as nice and proud of the town as any that i have incountered.

Getting there

you have to be prepared to get from the airport at edinburogh to the hotel. we were ill prepared for it because we were unaware that there is 50 miles between the 2. we took a bus to the train station, a train to luchers and then a cab to the hotel. quite a trip.

What to pack

warm clothes for the evenings. rain gear, nothings stops for rain there and you dont want to waiste time waiting it out.

Must see

the old course, the cathedral, and the castels are must sees. nice shops there too.

“A good choice in St. Andrews”

A very nice, modestly-priced hotel in the center of St. Andrews. The dining room overlooks the Old Course. What more can you ask for?

“An excellent experience from begining to end”

Situated overlooking Saint Andrews golf coarse with a lounge where you can enjoy scones and tea, this hotel was a delight to find. From entering with 2 elderly relatives in need of walking assistance the hotel changed out rooms and did everything they could to make us feel welcome and comfortable. The rooms were all unique and very well furnished with charming , thoughtful touches like super shortbread cookies beside the tea and coffee supplied. Breakfast in the morning has to be experienced it was wonderful. . In closing we have to say there was not a negative thing that could be said about this hotel and they have to be congratulated on the standard of service they offer their clients. We look forward to returning and booking this hotel again.

Take a trip to Crail and visit Crail Harbour Gallery and Tea shop. Short trip from Saint Andrews town is charming.

“Classic style”

Rusacks is an old fashioned golf hotel which has been partially modernised. The rooms are good, breakfast is excellent but the lounge bar needs attention
