The property was close to the Pier, beach and promenade. I would rate the property as 3.2 stars. The property was nice and clean, but the rooms were oddly shaped. The single room with a sea view was very narrow and one felt that you were sleeping in a closed off corridor (the bathroom so small that the sink was in the bedroom)The breakfast was good but despite it being quiet, the empty cereal bowls were left on the table even after you received your cooked breakfast creating a very messy looking table. The staff were helpful and courteous.

Weekend in Eastbourne
Cheap and Cheerful. Stayed a couple nights, staff were nice and friendly and it didn't cost an arm and a leg. Place is being done up so a bit run down in places, you can see the potential though. Great location on the sea front. I was there for a race so asked if I could have breakfast at 6:30 (usually 8-9), no problem for the staff so very happy.

I stayed with my mum for one night in a twin bedroom. Service was not up to standard and poor disabled access. My mum and I are both disabled and struggled with our walking sticks and bags up the front steps and went into a very tiny lift. The room and hotel was not up to standard and especially not suitable for and asthmatic person like myself. I struggled to get in and out of the bath and in the sleeping area there was water marks and mould above the windows as well as the light area on the ceiling. When my mum went downstairs to see if we can have a different room no one available on reception (no bell either). I was in our reception room for on the verge of an asthma attack and was trying to control my breathing. This morning when checking out again no one on reception to greet us out. Especially cooked breakfast wasn't available only continental breakfast. Bath was too high for me to get in and out off and only one plug socket by the mirror and table. Also features small lighting starting to come off the walls above the beds. Overall despite being an old building this needs to be up to date and more suitable for the disabled (assessable rooms etc) and no water marks, mould and damps in the rooms to stop any further asthmatics having a asthma attacks. Would not stay here again, avoid this hotel.

In a good position on the seafront. However the room was very overpriced for what i got. The place is very tired and wants updating especially the shower facilities. Would not stay here again unless it was much much cheaper

The view from the rooms at the front of the hotel are great. The hotel is quite dated and needs TLC in many areas but that is probably reflected by the fact it is graded 2 stars. Staff are friendly and helpful. Parking is in nearby parking bays using parking permits obtainable from the hotel at a cost of £1 per day.

Service was wonderful. A small, overworked and efficient staff are the only bright spot in this faded, old hotel. Breakfast was diabolical. Everything is cooked in advance so it arrives practically before it is ordered. Do not expect the egg yolks to be liquid nor the toast warm. There is no fresh fruit, yogurt, croissants, etc. Apparently, the hotel will get a complete renovation next spring, meanwhile go elsewhere.

Very nice staff, shower could have been a little faster running, although used to new power showers now and would have liked a fridge for milk. view was very good from the seaview room nice room overall had a hair dryer and a bible and books and games down stairs to play/ read. Near the lifeboat shop

Winston , GM, is ace! He is most welcoming, treats each guest as they are a VIP and makes sure we feel special. Entertainment, food, bar, lounge to read a book, relax, meet interesting people/ guests. The seafront is right outside the door and a beautiful ocean view. All the amenities you need are provided in your room. Nice staff that are on their toes and pleasant with a smile. Back to Winston, heart of gold, extremely hard worker, the best! When I told the cabbie on the way to the train station what we felt about Windston, he said lots of guests and people say the same, great guy. Thank you!

Lovely old-fashioned hotel
Nice hotel right on the seafront and a 10-min walk from the station. They swapped my booked double for a twin and as I and my friend were in Eastbourne for a race, they even arranged an early breakfast for us. Superb service. The decor and furniture is dated, and rather twee, but spotlessly clean. Beds comfortable, with sheets and blankets and extra blankets in the wardrobe - unnecessary as the hotel was heated. I would stay again.

The worse hotel ever!!!
The worse hotel ever, the room was horrible, dirty and cold, the bed was so uncomfortable. NO wi fi and the tv didn't even worked also the check in was at 3.30 and the check out was at 9 in the morning!!!

Perhaps you got confused with our breakfast time. Very quaint little hotel
The hotel is perfectly situated right across the street from the beaches and the boardwalk. The area is lovely and we'll maintained. The hotel itself is old but has obviously been loved and well maintained. Being old and a little tired are certainly part of the building's charm. You can just see how grand it was in its day. The rooms are small but clean. The Wi-Fi did not work well at all but we didn't mind as we were out exploring all the lovely sites. The staff were kind and accommodating. I would stay here again.

As noted by others the staff are very friendly and professional. You have the feeling they want to make sure you have a good time at the hotel. They pointed out a Beer & Cider festival on the night I checked in that I would not have known about which was a good suggestion. The rooms are a bit tired but perfectly ok and certainly for the price. The cooked breakfast is good and very prompt. While the rooms are generally speaking clean there was a major problem with my room albeit that any hotel can have it. I asked for it to be dealt with which they promptly did but not satisfactorily. When I complained about this they apologized and did their best to compensate for it. Unfortunately quite an annoying problem.

Hmm...would not go back!
Huge issue with finding somewhere to park. The room was cleanish but shabby. View at the back was nothing to write home about. We were on the 3rd floor and the lift was a bit dodgy to say the least...you can just about fit 2 people in it! I expected something a bit better...but it was only one night! Certainly would not book for a holiday! Pictures don't show the reality I'm afraid.

Dear Anonymous, Thank you for your review. Unfortunately we don't have a car park due to our location being directly on the sea-front, however we do provide parking permits at the reception to allow guests to park directly on the street outside. I am sorry to hear you did not feel things were up to scratch in your room. We are currently planning a refurbishment in the hotel which we hope to implement in the near future which will include upgrading room facilities and decor to a more modern standard. In regards to the lift, we understand that it is a small lift, however it is not dodgy - it is fully functional and fit for purpose as we legally have to have it serviced every few months and every time it has passed. I hope once the hotel has under gone its refurbishment you may come back to try us again in the future! Kind Regards,
