"Upon my arrival to the hotel the entry was very nice for the lounge area. I did notice that it was some items on the other side that were boxed so I assumed it was some renovations going on. Customer service was on point and the gentleman was very accommodating but I must say I was very disappointed in how the hotel was. First and foremost on the welcome screen there were images from the Bistro and when I asked what time was breakfast or how do I order what was being displayed I was told it wasn’t a Bistro which meant I had to pay for my dining while there which wasn’t a problem but just like most travelers I was looking forward to what was being displayed. Secondly, the first room I got to the couch had stains and the bedding and bathtub was dirty. I went back downstairs to discuss with front desk and he upgraded my room which was slightly better. While wanting to relax on the balcony that was offered, it was no balcony furniture and I had the view of old furniture gathered outside as well as big trash bins that could be rented so I did not enjoy that. This Sonesta and the Sonesta in Cary, NC are nothing alike which I was expecting the same layout. I started to read the reviews and previous customers talked about bed bug issues, funky smells from the rooms, and overall not satisfied with the hotel. Luckily, I did not encounter bed bugs but I did go to the local Dollar Tree and purchased cleaning products and wiped around in the room. Overall, I will not be going back."
