“Good quality accomodation”
2 day break, mpressed with all aspects of hotel. Parking in pay and display car park a minor irritant
“Excellent business hotel close to city centre”
The hotel is ideally located within easy walking distance of Exeter City Centre with a cheap public car park to the rear and a multiplex cinema across the road. The rooms are high quality motel rooms with sufficient space for a comfortable chair and a small table. The decoration is clean and fresh. We ate at the hotel once and were happy with the meal. The hotel is used by coach parties from abroad and their meals looked appetising and were eliciting positive responses. Definitely good value for money.
“Exeter”
Overall I was satisfied with this hotel. I would not, however, recommend getting the breakfast package that cost must more than it was worth. The room was cleaned very well daily. I very much doubt any room had a view of anything worthwhile seeing but I wasn't there to sightsee as I was on a business trip. The location of the hotel suited my needs very well as it was only a 8 minute walk to the office.
“A posh premier inn”
I've stayed at the Jury's Inn Exeter before and was happy with the service and hotel standards, but was left a bit underwhelmed on this occasion. Whilst still quite shiny and new, the rooms were all identical and decorated in a boring and impersonal way (we were part of a group so booked 3 rooms in total). The room was clean but smelt of smoke despite being a non-smoking room. Comfortable beds and very effective heating, but no complimentary toiletries or added extras. We didn't have breakfast so can't comment but it was quite expensive, as were the drinks in the bar, which shut at 1.30 am on New Years Eve!! The hotel recommends the NCP car park opposite which is really expensive overight, but there are two council operated car parks surrounding the hotel which are free between 6pm and 8am or cost a third of the NCP rates the rest of the time. Overall happy with our stay as it was just a place to crash, but no personal touches and we could have stayed somewhere more luxurious for the price.
“Good quality budget hotel”
The Jurys Inn hotel was relatively easy to find. It is within easy walking distance of the St Davids station, approx 15 mins and 5-10 mins of the Central train station. It is close to the High Street and the local shopping area. It is round the corner from the local bus station and there seemed to be plenty of buses. We did not need the staff other than to check in and that went smoothly. The only thing I was surprised at was if you were going to leave your card details incase you may want to charge anything to your room you were requested to pay a minimal charge which would be refunded the difference if you did not go over that amount. The room was basic but clean. It had the usual TV & telephone. There was tea and coffee facilities but I would advise taking some milk with you as they did not give you much. There was no drawer space just a long desk and hanging space, which is ok if you are not going to stay long. We did not eat dinner in the hotel so cannot comment on it. We did have breakfast, there was more than enough to eat. We did not spend a lot of time in the hotel but it served its purpose for us and I would have no problem at going back again.
“Would use it again.”
Nice new hotel. Only downside, bathroom was a tad too small... but locationwise, great, near all the shops/mall in Exeter. Restaurant staff was very friendly and courteous, all in all I would recomment the Jury's Inn in Exeter.
“Where's the storage?”
This is a new hotel, opened June this year, but there are no shelves or drawers to stow gear, just hanging rod. OK if only staying 1 night, but very inconvenient for longer stays. Also had very hot duvets and no A/C. Buffet breakfast was excellent, fresh hot and cold choices and reasonably priced. Parking in municipal car park behind hotel was free from 6 pm to 8 am.
“Lovely hotel”
Excellent location. New hotel - very comfortable.
“Not recommended”
The hotel was opened earlier this year, so the decor and general cleanliness were good. However there were some serious design flaws! There was a shower not a bath in the room and the doors of the shower were badly designed - to turn the water on you had to be in the shower which meant you either got scalded or frozen to death until the temperature was right. Then if you closed the shower door from the inside there was no handle to open it again, you had to try to wedge your fingers round the side of the door, it took me three attempts, so the following morning I did not close the door fully so flooded the floor. Then when I checked in at 6 I was told the restaurant was fully booked, but that food was served in the bar, and the bar was open until 01.00. What they did not tell me was the chef went home at 9.30 p.m. and they could not even offer to make a sandwich. The hotel exterior is ugly and industrial, but also clearly on the itinerary of several European coach tour companies, which explains why the restaurant was full in the evening and again at breakfast. I would not go back and stay there again, I stayed in a much better hotel last year in Exeter called St Olaves, and it did not cost that much more. Unfortunately it was full this year.
“Excellent and convenient”
We chose this hotel as it was so central to Exeter city centre. Its a very new hotel so all the amenities were in top condition. The staff both on reception were at all times helpful and courteous. The Breakfast was on special offer and a good range of food was available and very tasty. Rooms were spacious and clean, although this was on a busy road the double glazing meant a peaceful night. The air conditioning worked well . I would certainly choose this hotel again if in the area, and would recommend it to anyone who needs a convenient comfortable stopover in Exeter city centre.
