“Not impressed”

Very dingy, small and unimpressive hotel - even though breakfast was included it was not the best. Would not stay again.

“Beware....if you have already paid for your trip..they may charge you again without authorization”

I paid for this trip through Expedia.com. I was checking my bank account and I noticed 2 charges from this hotel. I called them and spoke to the front desk, they did not have a very good explanation so I asked for the Manager and I got the same excuses and "We're sorry" bit. If I had been told about the charges it would have been a different story. When I called about the charges they said they did not have authorization from Expedia, why didn't they tell me that when I checked in???? Is it just easier for them to go ahead and put it on your card without telling you....and perhaps you won't notice it. I could have contacted Expedia and gotten it taken care of, or perhaps they should have done that before charging it on my card without my authorization. Luckily I am fortunate enough to have money in the account to cover it, but that is not the point. It was a debit card and what if that amount was all the money I had in world until pay day? I will never stay at another Marriott Hotel. You would think a Corporation of their size could get it right!!!!!

“Great work space”

I always try to stay at Springhill Suites if I am on a work trip because I like having a full kitchen and work area with desk. The Dallas downtown location is in an older historic building so the rooms are smaller (aka no kitchen table), but it was still fine. I had hoped for a wall/door separating from the bedroom to living area (I had a client meeting), but it was more of an open space with a short wall. The staff was wonderful and they have a free shuttle within 3 miles of the hotel, saved me cab fare to and from my deposition, you just call ahead. Valet parking is expensive, aprox $19-20 per nite with taxes, but this is the same at all hotels in the area.

“Happy traveler”

I chose the Springhill Suites primarily based on its location near the House of Blues, but was pleased with everything about the hotel. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The room was very comfortable and clean, as were all public areas in the hotel. Although it is not a super luxurious hotel, our stay was very pleasant and I would certainly recommend this hotel to friends.

Area recommendations

I have visited the DFW area numerous times and have found that I prefer Downtown Dallas. Valet parking is almost a necessity, so plan on incorporating that expense. There is so much going on downtown, from the arts district to the great nightclubs and restaurants.

“nice hotel in west end”

this is a nice hotel. the room was clean, bed was comfy and the breakfast was good. my only complaint was i had prepaid for the room through expedia and they said they had to swipe my card for incidentals. all good until a few days later i saw that they had charged my card for the room again (the hotel, not expedia). I called and they apologized and within a couple days they had credited my card for the amount. thankfully it didn't cause any problems. i would recommend it to someone wanting to stay in the west end of dallas.

“Very Pleased”

The customer service was superb. The complimentary breakfast was great each day. They offered a courtesy shuttle to bring me to my destination each day. I can't think of any major problems I had with the hotel.

“Enjoyed our stay”

Good place to stay. Breakfast buffet was good, but lacked enough seating. Clean spacious rooms.Lots of good restaurants within walking distance.
