"Recovery Break"
The staff at this hotel are all very pleasant and helpful. The food was very good although the bar menu was quite limited . We stayed fior 5 nights. This was a sort break as I was recovering from surgery. I had requested a room with just a shower. The room was quite big and very clean, with nice toiletries and tea and coffee provided. The pool was great therapy for me being post surgery. They have a very good gym which is very popular. The corridors are well carpeted and there is very little noise once you are in your room. On the downside, it was a long walkto our room and there is no lift. (I knew there was no lift when I booked.) The main complaint I have is the comfort of the bed. although it was a large bed it was very uncomfortable with the mattress springs sticking up and into you when you lay on it. Other that these comments, the hotel was ok and if they improved the mattresses thennI I would be happy to return.

"Nice location. "
Mattress springs were active. Lamp shade became detached. Electric points not close enough to mirrors to allow easy use. Brighter main lighting would be appreciated. Insufficient area to place toiletries in bathroom. All staff most helpful. Breakfast area nice, light and airy with good food. Use of wi-fi too restricted.

"Lovely, quiet, charming little town"
I like to get off the beaten path. Tomintoul is just the place. Whiskey country is easily accessible; there are nice walks; we had a great meal at the main restaurant in town (the lamb was superb). The B and B was great--our host even put newspaper in our soaking shoes. Breakfasts were true, hefty, Scottish delights and set us up for our days of exploring the area. Loved this spot.

Had a great experience at the Lodge Elgin. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I arrived quite late after the check in time and they were very accommodating given the circumstance. The room was clean and bright and the breakfast was great! I would definitely stay here again.
