Bright, restful and full of character, Woodyear House is an impressive Grade II listed home set right in the heart of Cowes. Backed by the tranquil waters of the town’s harbour and located amongst the thriving independent retailers of the High Street, it’s a great option for those looking to get an authentic taste of Island life.

Over a hundred years ago, this imposing building was home to the Woodyear family of drapers - who supplied their top-notch linen to Queen Victoria at Osborne House. Restored and revived in 2015, it now provides truly unforgettable getaways with its simple, nautical-inspired interiors, comfy beds and sunny harbourside patio - ideal for watching the boats gliding in and out of port.

Once known as The Old Haberdashery, it still retains much of its 19th-century character and charm, including the original grand staircase with its stunning ironwork balustrades - something you can’t fail to miss when stepping in through the front door for the first time. On the first floor, guests will discover a spacious, open-plan living area with impressive views over Cowes Harbour, as well as a shipshape kitchen/diner next door and a well-placed waterfront balcony (where we expect you’ll be spending a lot of your time). Up on the second floor are two bright and airy bedrooms, whilst down on the ground floor you’ll find the super king master bedroom and a tasteful double.

Also at ground level, is the harbourside patio, loved by our guests for secluded dinners, intimate family gatherings and lazy afternoons in the sun.

Free parking is available on Ward Avenue which is five minutes walk away.

Please note that as the property is located on a pedestrianised street, unloading and loading directly outside the property via a vehicle is not possible. However there is a loading bay which is 20 metres away from the front entrance door which can be used.

The property will be available from 3pm on your day of arrival and check out time on the day of departure is 10am.

The property is equipped with everything you will need including utilities, bed linen and towels.
