“a strange but enjoyable place”
This was a decent hotel--we stayed in one of the regular jacuzzi rooms. The building in general seems old and a little shabby. It's not in disrepair or anything--just an older building with the requisite odd hallways, annexes, etc. But the room was clean and comfortable. It had its own heating system which had a thermostat but it was a little hard to get a consistent temperature. The jacuzzi was GREAT and soaked all our cares away after a long day of running around museums and attractions in Cincinnati. The room could benefit from some potted plants or a little additional decoration, and the shower was very small. The "tropical dome" pool was cool but a little cheesy. They have a hot tub there that's in a rock grotto that looked neat but I didn't use it. Overall, it was kind of a quirky place, but comfortable and an easy drive from activities in Cincinnati. I would go back sometime and try one of their theme rooms.
“Ran down and stinky”
We stayed in a regular poolside room with double beds, not one of the theme rooms. The room smelled moldy. Furniture was broken & unsafe. Electrical outlets unsafe. The game room smelled like cat urine and mold. There was an animal trap in the pool area. This is an old hotel and really ran down. The staff was nice though. We found a nicer, cheap-priced hotel just across the river in Cincinnati Ohio called LaQuinta with much nicer rooms and indoor pool. Everything was great at the LaQuinta. We will probably stay at the LaQuinta again.
“Zero Customer Service”
We stayed two nights. The second evening when we returned after being gone all day our room had not been cleaned. We went to the desk clerk and were told rooms were not cleaned after 2 p.m. (It was 5 p.m.) then asked what we wanted him to do. We said we wanted it cleaned. Someone did come, vacuumed and emptied trash. No new sheets. We will not be going there again.
“H-O-R-R-I-B-L-E”
What we thought was a nigh getaway turned in to awful! Pool area looks nice from the pics but is WAY outdated! We got a poolside room which was fine. As ppl started showing up it looked like trailor park wknd. People were everywhere! A kid came from the play area NAKED and peed from the side INTO the pool. When I complained I was told that though it was nasty and seemed worse because I saw it that people do it all the time and they have filters that take care of it. WHAT?!?! I told them a public pool would shut down while they put some chemicals in it. Someone else complained so they shut it down for 10 mins while they shocked it. Later a kid pooped in the kiddie pool and they just closed it rather than cleaning it because the lady would do it in the morning. So poop was left in it ALL night. Hot tub says no one under 17 and there were kids in and out all day/night. There were 2 birthday parties so people who were not staying there were in and out of the pool all day as well. Overall satisfaction is non-existant. We do not plan to return and would not reccommend it to a friend.
“Need some TLC, very comfortable bed, and extremely hot water!”
Needs some updated colors and bedding. The room was smelly, very much over priced. Ice machine was broken! Tv remotes, yes remotes, one to turn on tv another to turn channels. The turn off remote was not working. The hot tub is great, the bed was comfortable, the water was very hot!!! So it had its pros and cons, just a little over priced.
“you get what you pay for”
There were stains on the floor, marks on the walls, the matress was old dirty and hard, the towels that were supposed to be white had yellow stains on them, no elevator, the breakfast was blah, the hotel felt dirty and cheap, you had to put to coffee pot on the floor to reach the outlet. We had a standard room and yes it was cheap but that shouldn't mean that its dirty. I would have rather went camping it would have been cleaner.
“Pretty much a dump”
After seeing this hotel on Expedia at, I think it was a 2 1/2 star, for the price paid I expected a more decent hotel. It was kind of a dump, certainly not a 2 1/2 star, more like a 2 star at best. Kind of reminded me of a rent-by-the-hour motel, or one of those cheap motels that college kids get when they go to spring break at Myrtle Beach or something
“"Too much for Too little"”
I would only recommend this hotel because there aren't many that offer "Theme" suites, however, for the amount of money you pay, you'd expect more. The hotel wasn't sold out (it was even a weekday) yet when we asked for an extra pillow we were told they didn't have any! The hot tub says "No Children" yet there were so many that we were unable to get in until the following morning, at which point the hot tub was closed for cleaning. Why wasn't this done the night prior when it closes at 11pm?? I'm glad I got a deal on Expedia because I would've been VERY disappointed and sure to complain to management if I had paid full price!!
“Hope it improves could have been Nice”
It was being remodeled, room was way overpriced, room stunk of urine, jacuzzi had mold all over it, for the money I was very unhappy, looked like it could have been a nice place fixed up, will not being doing business with Expedia again
“not impressed”
This hotel could be beautiful and a lot of fun, unfortunately, it is old, run down, and not somewhere I would want my family to stay again.
