This place is amazing i spent 1 nite via travelocity then booked another stay via the buckeye hostel website and saved even more money ! This place is so comfortable and they provide breakfast to! Highly recommend this place

The house and the private room I stayed in was clean and tidy. The room was well appointed with a comfortable bed, desk and chair, closet with hangers, and plenty of shelving space and outlets. The TV with Netflix/Amazon Prime was a nice touch. Communication was clear. I didn't interact with management but I didn't need to. A tiny ding to the shared bathroom having water specks on the mirror and to water on the counter from other patrons. A role of paper towels so people could wipe up would have been helpful. (There were hand towels that I'm guessing no one wanted to use to wipe up the counter, since the towels were there for people to use to dry hands.) There was a box of disinfectant wipes--nice touch for anyone who might want to wipe off the toilet seat before using. So adding a roll of paper towels to the bathroom would be easy/helpful. Overall, though, great stay, and I'd stay again.

The Wayfaring Buckeye is a great stay
As this is a Hostel the cleanliness is 90% dependent on guests cleaning up after themselves. If you have guest that take carenof their messes and their dishes then cleanliness is not an issue.

We never received a check-in email with instructions. We ended up stranded outside in the cold for over an hour. Another guest was also stuck outside with us. We tried calling every number listed - they finally answered after calling over 30 times. The kitchen area was very dirty. There was tons of old rotten food in the fridges. Some of it not even covered. Didn’t feel comfortable eating breakfast there. The room was super hot, even with the windows open had a hard time sleeping. Would not recommend.

I was given a code to get in the front door and my room. I didn't need them because I pushed on the door and it opened without resistance and I walked right in. I then worried that anyone off the street would walk right in. On the way out in the morning, someone was sleeping on the couch. Who knows where they came from.

A magical little haven in a safe part of town
The Wayfare Buckeye is truly one of the nicest hostels I’ve stayed at so far. Robbie is so helpful and considerate. The advice he gave for things to do was totally on point. The atmosphere is relaxed, the food provided was delicious, and overall I felt nothing but safe while staying there. The showers, bathrooms, and the room itself was very clean. I loved that towels were provided, that’s sometimes rare for hostels. While I didn’t use a bike, the fact they were provided is super cool. The area itself is very walkable, there are plenty of bars nearby, and it’s only a 30 minute walk from OSU (20 from High St)! I would definitely stay again.

I would stay again.
This is a hostel environment, so the general cleanliness is 95% dependent on the other guests. The management does a fine job of accommodating special requests and fulfilling needs of the guests.

Beautiful house, peaceful neighborhood, lovely piano, relaxing jacuzzi, walking distance from active social gathering establishments and wandering through the residential streets was refreshingly colorful with the autumn changes catching my breath and close attention at every turn... The other guests were very pleasant... And Robbie, the manager, was very accomodating, even when the occasional problem arose... It's very easy to see why The Wayfaring Buckeye has earned so many stars in their reviews... I would whole-heartedly recommend it to anyone traveling to Columbus, OH...

Great Hostel Experience!
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Wayfaring Buckeye! We were playing a show just around the corner at the Rumba Café, which was a whopping 4-minute walk from the hostel. So convenient! Parking in back, speedy wi-fi, clean and comfy beds, and plenty of shared bathrooms to go around. Also...there's a hot tub! Would definitely book again.

The Hostel was clean in a residential neighborhood within a mile from OSU campus. Parking in rear of units, just a little crowded. Breakfast was help yourself and was a well stocked help yourself. No complaints and well secured.

This is the best hostel I stayed at! Clean, well-kept, good customer service, and much more. It is close to downtown. The free breakfast and coffee/drinks is clutch! Plus a large, self-service kitchen! Cozy shared space with a huge TV and all key platforms. The landlord Robbie is AMAZING. He consistently answered all my queries and gave me suggestions on for numerous things - car rentals companies, places to go grocery shopping, restaurants/bars, etc. Robbie even drove me in the morning one day to pick up my car rental. He also took me out two nights - once to see an amazing band in the area called Hood Soulband at Rumba Cafe (WORTH THE EXPERIENCE, no Regret!...I am listening to them going forward!), and another was a pub crawl, one bar of which was a video game arcade. Would come back here if I am ever in Columbus again. Thank you Robbie!

First time staying at a hostel. Check-in was easy: I was emailed the door codes earlier in the day as promised. Parking in the back was a bit tight but pretty convenient. When I booked the room I wasn't too sure about the "shared bathroom" situation but it wasn't really an issue once I was there. My room was next to the bathroom so I could hear when people went to the bathroom. It's understandable since this is just a house, not a hotel, but still kinda awkward. I think my only complain is that the water pressure in the shower was pretty weak...but I guess that's not the owners fault. I managed to take a shower which is what matters I guess, it just took me a while. The self-serve breakfast was convenient and the kitchen was well stocked with bagels, cream cheese, milk, cereals, oat meal and juice. The hot-tub seemed clean and warm but did not get the chance to go into it. It is a shame the shared bikes are not available "due to covid". The TV in the room came with Netflix and Amazon Prime which was pretty nice.

I was pleasantly surprised during my stay here. This was my first time staying in a hostel, and I loved how quiet it was at night. Parking was tricky, since there are only four spots, but the owners include a list of other parking options on their website.
