There are better places but..
Throughout my twenties, I have spent hundreds of hours, exploring new places, sleeping in various establishments for better or for worse and while Brooklyn house wasn’t the most horrible by far, there were various issues that I felt could be addressed. Good things first though, breakfast was probably the best I’ve tasted, host's vacillatingly friendly, even if, it was a pain to get hold of them and the building was next to immaculately clean. This brings me, quite nicely I must say to the bad points, which, are more like improvements to make the overall customer experience better. Immediately on my way there, I found my self getting lost as signage wasn’t made very clear. Then there was a problem with getting the hosts attention, which led me into a situation leaving me locked out and hypothermic, ( not their faults) but although I was given a code, I feel to prevent this in the future, needs to be made more clear. Having spent the night in the streets, it was important for me to warm up, however it was pretty hard, as the buildings heating system didn’t turn on till exactly midnight. Also found a spiders web and a few bits of dust in hidden places, along with slightly outdated, mismatched decor, not to mention, absent pillow protectors. Overall, experience was okay but it is at risk of becoming behind with the times.

The host was very friendly and accommodating. There are stairs for those with mobility issues. Breakfast was arranged the day before and there was a selection of cereals. The hotel was next to a main road which made it very noisy with sirens and HGVs. However the hotel off is very competitive price for the area. If you want 4 or 5* then you need to pay more for it.

A VERY Friendly And Clean B and B.
Lynn and Stephen run a very friendly and exceptionally clean b and b. The full English is excellent too. They are some 10 mins walk from the train station. I can heartily recommend Brooklyn House.

Very very small rooms comfy bed clean. But I think for the price it dosent include breakfast so it’s not a bnb you have to pay extra and it’s quite pricy anyway. It was ok for work.

Friendly, welcoming owners; gorgeous full English breakfast; room small but comfortable with tea/ coffee making facilities (plus biscuits) and shower gel in the bathroom. The room was a bit on the cold side but quiet despite being near a main road. Really close to the main sites and the station, all easily walkable.

Excellent Guest House
I had a single room at the rear of the property which was not only cooler but nice and quiet too. This guest house is ideally placed for the city centre and also the road networks. The host is very welcoming and the team make a mean breakfast! Which when included in an already very reasonable price makes the stay much sweeter! I’d used the guest house for a business/family visiting trip and the room more than suited my needs. The room was very clean and tidy and was made up during each day of my stay. Once of the best places I’ve stayed in Carlisle and I’ve been to a few!

Lovely get away
We had a lovely 4 nights stay at Broklyn house. Nothing was too much and we where well looked after. We will certainly reccomned the b n b to friends and family. 5 mins walk to the town centre 20 mins walk to carlisle united football club. Both quicker walks for confident walkers.

2 nights in Carlisle
2 nights a start of Hadrian's Wall walk. Location is just off the path, which is good, but it is difficult to get to on a very busy road. A few blocks from the main tourist area and a 10 minute or so walk from the train station. Small room in what felt like a dated property. The hostess was helpful and very nice, my room was ready well before checkin time and I was allowed to drop my bag in the room. Breakfast was good.

My stay at brooklyn b+b guest house carlisle.
Was a good top standards b+b guest house place. Room was a ensuite bathroom dident have to share a bathroom with any other guests people other rooms. Was a handy location only 10 mins walk to bus and train stations and during stay only was 10 mins walk to a public parks there. Breakfasts were very delicous. A good comfortable stay.

The hosts were accomodating on what was going to be a late arrival. I rang ahead to confirm and to let them know, it's only good manners to do so. Had an early start so very kindly offered to do an earlier than usual breakfast for us. Rooms were very clean and well presented. Nice hot shower in the morning. Could have done with an extra towel, but I only had to ask. I accept that this saves on energy as washing towels unnecessarily is a waste. One good touch was a spare socket either side of bed to plug phone in to charge overnight. Many major hotels don't have this and you have to plug your phone in well away from the bed, which for me is a nuisance when alarm goes off in a morning or if wanting to work on phone whilst in bed. Breakfast was good. Nice assortment of fresh fruit. Apple and orange fruit juices. 4 or 5 different cereals and a good cooked to order full English breakfast with plenty of hot toast, tea and coffee. My only advice is if you are a really light sleeper room 4 and room 5 face onto the main road. It didn't bother me at all as I can sleep on a washing line in a hurricane but others may wish to consider it as although the road quietens right off I heard a bit of traffic before I went to sleep at 01:00. It's not a problem I think but I'm just putting it out there as some people easily complain about road noise. Overall a really nice stay. Would highly recommend and will stay there again.
