It would be easy to pick faults with the hotel but we had a large comfortable room with good facilities, great internet connection and excellent breakfast. The central location was ideal for us to walk everywhere.
I wandered in after walking 28 miles of Hadrian's Wall, the staff were fantastic and realised I probably wasn't fully "there"... The room service was quick, with large portions and was very good!
They looked after my bigger bag, offered a decent breakfast, and were friendly and positive throughout my stay.

The staff was very welcoming and the rooms were clean and well decorated with all facilities both clean and well stocked, the staff couldn't do enough for as we checked out go to my daughters graduation they very kindly let us leave our luggage in the store room .
excelle t place to stay, both handy for visiting Carlisle and touring Hadrians wall. Rooms were immaculate and the bistro which has just opened this season looks really good. Breakfast excellent and lovely hosts.
Extremely pleasant stay in a beautifully featured ?Edwardian house.Perfectly appointed for exploring Carlisle town centre and surrounding area. Large, clean well furnished bedroom with a fabulous ensuite facility. Breakfast was very tasty fare with all the extras. Nothing was too much trouble for our very welcoming hostess.
A great place, steeped in character. Three stories tall and narrow, its every room filled with antiques, it feels a bit like climbing into a world outside time. It's situated in a very pleasant neighbourhood on a tree-lined road of attractive older buildings, a short walk from Carlisle's equally nice, pedestrianized city center. The proprietor is friendly, helpful, and cooks one of the better English breakfasts I've had.
"Top hotel in its own beautiful riverside gardens"
This is a grand old hall tastefully converted to a lovely family hotel. I had the pleasure to stay for just one night as a stopover on my way to Newcastle. The hotel is wonderful and the riverside scene viewed from the breakfast table was stunning. The room was spacious, clean, comfortable. I will definitely stay again next time I have the opportunity.
