The best time to go to Careiro is during the dry season, which typically runs from May to October.During these months, the weather is generally sunnier with less rainfall, making it ideal for exploring the Amazon rainforest and its waterways. The lower water levels in the rivers and lakes expose more land, making it easier to spot wildlife along the riverbanks and during jungle treks. This period is particularly good for activities like piranha fishing and caiman spotting, as the animals are more concentrated in the remaining water sources. For those interested in fishing, the dry season is also excellent as the fish are more abundant and easier to catch in the shallower waters.
