Tranquillity, peace and yet just 20 minutes from the centre of Cardiff, this really is something special. This Barry cottage is close to many beaches, and the shops, cafés and restaurants of the renowned town of Barry. Within easy distance of the shopping, culture, and attractions of Wales's capital city, you'll get the best of both worlds from this serene cottage that is close to the excitement of the city.

Size – sleeps four in two bedrooms.
Beds – one king, one double.
Rooms – ground floor – open plan living, kitchen and dining area, king bedroom with ensuite, double bedroom with ensuite.
Kitchen and utilities – electric oven, gas hob, dishwasher, washing machine, dryer, fridge freezer, microwave.
Entertainment – Smart TV, Bluetooth soundbar, DVD, iPod docking station, games console.
For families – high chair, stairgate and travel cot available on request. Please bring your own cot linen.
Outside – large lawned area with barbecue on site.
General – bed linen and towels provided. Electricity and heating included. Wi-Fi available. One of a pair of adjoining cottages. This cottage was awarded a Building Excellence award in 2015. Basic items such as washing up liquid, dishwasher tabs, toilet rolls and antibacterial spray are provided. Welcome pack is provided on arrival including tea, coffee, milk, sugar, home-made cakes and biscuits. Please let us know if you're celebrating a special occasion during your stay as we may include a little something extra in your pack. Bike storage shed and sporting equipment storage is available.
Pets – no pets, but there are kennels on-site if required.

Short break
We stayed for the weekend to visit family. The cottage had everything you needed with beautiful views. It was very clean and felt covid safe. One down side was when we booked and payed the check in times were different from advertised, it was and hour later to check in and hour earlier to check out, not a major issue but would have been nice to check out at 10 not 9 when we had a long drive home after a hectic weekend with family.

The location suited very well because we know there are some excellent beaches close by but The Knap at Barry was the one for us as long as we took the tides into consideration in the planning of our day we were able to enjoy the quiet beach and lovely parks close by without going into the busyness of Barry Island Resort and pleasure Park but was there if we chose to. Being able to come back to Dove cottage to enjoy a lovely countryside view with the quiet and calmness of the surroundings even though there were several properties around you you wouldn’t know they were there.. A very relaxing break
