Pros: Location
Cons: The whole hotel especially the heating
Location: It is in a prime location in Cardiff City Center and it is in walking distance to nearly anything in Cardiff.
Stayed for 2 nights, bad heating, I couldnt sleep well because of how cold it was in the room. High noise from the street as the windows are still old. The hotel in general needs renovation as the facility is very old. Won't recommend you stay more than a night.

Posted 21-Apr-2014
Pros: Location
Cons: Interior could do with a little tlc Complimentary Tea/coffee was a bit sparse!!
Due to the location of this hotel we could access all the main attractions We went to see a show in St Davids Hall, the next day we went shopping in the morning, Caught the local bus to Cardiff bay, and returned via water bus that took us back to central Cardiff and just by the hotel

One night stay

Posted 21-Apr-2014
Pros: Parking (£10) Breakfast Location
Cons: Provide still water as well as sparkling in the room...not really important but I don't like sparkling water.
Location: Cardiff Castle directly opposite. City Centre minutes walk away.
This was my second stay at The Angel and I will stay there again. It is convenient for the city centre and the university and has its own parking (always a plus). The staff are friendly, polite and helpful. The breakfast is great. The only possible negative is the traffic noise.

A good location

Posted 20-Apr-2014
Pros: Online
Cons: Double glazing - hopefully to give quieter rooms
Location: Millenium Stadium. Cardiff Castle. Cardiff City F C (Short Walk). Dr Who Experience & Cardiff Bay (Short Walk / Bus / River Boat). Shopping.
This hotel is in a good location with the castle on one side and the millennium stadium on the other. It is an old building with single glazed windows and the rooms are noisy at night (traffic and local noise). The rooms show obvious signs of wear (fixtures and furniture) and the glass in the windows was cracked in a few places. The outside noise did have an impact on our stay but the other issues didn't bother me at all. The hotel staff on reception were excellent and very helpful - nothing too much trouble.

Big disappointing- hotel not worth even 1 star.

Posted 14-Apr-2014
Pros: Just good localisation
Cons: Except localisation and nice outside image- most everything inside
First and last ours stay in The Angel Hotel. Hotel needs very big investment inside to increase comfort for customers. So fare in, ours opinion, standard is even less than 1 star hotel with high price for stay. We not recommend this hotel for other.

Nice hotel good location

Posted 31-Mar-2014
Pros: The location
Cons: This is an old hotel & in need of constant maintenance so parts of the room needed attention
Location: Close to city centre & Millenium Stadium, so you can walk to anywhere within the city. Tour bus stops right outside the Castle opposite the hotel.
Enjoyed our stay. Requested a room near lift as I was on crutches & they allocated a suitable room on 2nd floor which we were happy with. There was also a lift from Reception to street level. A very nice room but had a problem with an extractor fan that didn't switch off so noisy through the night. The room was warm & there were no windows that opened.

Centre of Cardiff

Pros: It had a lot of character
Cons: Up dating which I think is happening
Location: Lovely selection of pubs, bars and resturants. Castle is right next door
The hotel was in a fantastic location, which is why we chose to stay there. We were a little dissapointed about the room we were staying in. It was rather dated, the wall paper was coming off the walls it was dark and dreary, with a small window. We did expect to get a mini bar but only tea or coffee was available (not even a biscuit) The cleanliness was up to standard and the staff were very welcoming. The breakfast was nice but average.
