Very convenient location.

Posted 06-May-2015
Pros: Centre of town
Cons: Parking.
Location: Location excellent. Castle, tourist bus, wharf easy to get to.
Walking distance to all attractions, shopping and transport. Unfortunately I lift not operating and the other one malfunctioning. Problem with booking but staff sorted it out quickly and efficiently.

Nice staff shame about the guests

Posted 27-Apr-2015
Pros: THe staff.
Cons: perhaps keeping batchelor parties on the same floor and other guests on a different floor.
Location: Brilliant for the rugby and close enough to the shopping centre. If it was not for noisy large parties this would be a wonderful place to stay.
Nice hotel but very dated and in need of refurbishment. All the staff from reception to bar to waitresses were very friendly and helpful. THe food served at dinner was superb, all three courses were well cooked and served with a smile. The downside were the noisy guests who walked the corridors and banging on friends doors all night. With the noisy guests and the creaking floorboards there was not much chance of sleep.

Was looking forward to staying in a 4* hotel but my room was outdated and had the most uncomfortable bed I've had the misfortune to sleep on!!!

Perfect location

Posted 23-Mar-2015 on Hotels
This hotel is the perfect location for anyone visiting Cardiff for a long or short stay. My room was spacious and clean and the hotel staff were welcoming and helpful, and even helped me print out my concert ticket. My only complaint is that the wifi was a bit weak, which made internet access difficult. Otherwise, excellent and charming.

Didn't even get to stay at the hotel

Posted 19-Mar-2015
I booked a stay at the angel hotel in cardiff for one night for my girlfriends 18th birthday but when i arrived they told me that there was no room at the hotel and sent me to another hotel in tongwynlais which is about 20min out of cardiff city center, now if they had said before there was no room at the hotel that night i would have booked somewhere else but they took my money and made my reservation and at no time untill the date of my resivation did they try to contact me to tell me there was no room. Shocking customer relations.

A little tired but a comfortable place to stay

Posted 14-Mar-2015 on Hotels
Great location but as others have said its a little tired. It doesn't really match the 4 star rating. That said its a great location and the rooms have plenty of space and are comfortable. I got there in the early hours of the morning and the receptionist could not have been more helpful. I should not have believed is claim as the quality of the breakfast though! Better to go out to eat but I would stay here again,
