Great for weekend visit!

Posted 30-Jun-2015
Pros: Location and value. Convenient to all areas of the city.
Cons: The hotel really needs a third elevator. With 22 floors, 2 elevators can be frustrating during peak usage hours.
Location: Well within walking distance of city center, shopping center and Cardiff Castle.
Visted Cardiff for the weekend and this hotel was very conveniently located to the city center and the train station. Room was very spacious and quiet (11th floor)...breakfast was very good too! If my travels bring me back to Cardiff in the future, I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to others.

Perfect Location

Posted 29-Jun-2015
Location: The Millennium stadium is just five minutes walk, Cardiff castle another five. Plenty of bars and restaurants and shops within minutes of the hotel
Excellent spot if you want access minutes away from the train station but also the city centre. We were met with a very pleasant and smiley member of staff at the front desk. Service was slick and uncomplicated. The rooms were clean, spacious and the sound proofing meant that although we had a room adjacent to the train line, we didn't hear a single thing all night. (Although the alcohol might have had something to do with that, too!)

Nice Hotel

Posted 25-Jun-2015
Pros: Central location.
Cons: Better lift access. Builders monopolized access to the only two lifts
Location: Motor Point Arena
Nice hotel shame that you are not told how to get into the car park and the access code in advance. Difficult access in heavy traffic.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Posted 12-Jun-2015
Pros: Faclities ,staff were very efficient .
Cons: Late night meal / snack unavailable
Location: Location superb for shopping, sporting venues, concert venues , Cardiff Bay .
The staff were very efficient from Reception , the bar manager lead by example. The only complaint is that we attended the Elton John Concert( absolutely superb- what a professional!! Together with hi band). We returned to th hotel after the concert but were unable to have a meal even a snack. I would not have expected this in a hotel in Wales' Capital City! Please Radisson Blu rectify this as soon as possible please!!

Wonderful hotel, wonderful staff, wonderful locati

Posted 03-Jun-2015
The hotel is very close to the train and bus station (<10 minute walk) and when I arrived at 8:30 am, Mark (the person at reception) not only accommodated an early check-in, he gave me a room with a view! He was also extremely helpful when I told him I was going to the Doctor Who experience, giving very clear directions and maps. (It's about a 20 minute walk.) Shopping is literally across the street, and the Castle is about a 10 minute walk. Room service was prompt, bed was very comfortable, and bathroom very large. Overall, a lovely hotel.

Hotel was fine close to shopping and public transport .. Desk staff not forthcoming with information , had to be asked everything . Morning calls (6am) despite not asking for calls. No bolt between adjoining doors. Apparently other guests can't access your room through these doors. However for peace of mind hotel guests should be informed of this at check in

Very Disappointed particularly Parking Arrangement

Posted 17-May-2015
Pros: Nothing except on my complaint, the Hotel Manager was very polite and stated he would give me a good rate on my next visit ! Would I go there again ??
Cons: Night staff should be properly trained to be courteous and helpful to the guests and be polite.
Location: Fairly good town centre location
Very Disappointed with night staff. When I checked in I paid the hotel £18 for 24 hour Parking. I then went out for my daughter's Birthday celebration a and came back well after midnight and there were no parking spaces in the car park. I parked on double yellow line within the car park but not obstructing anybody but I was told by the night staff that I would get a £100 ticket if I parked there. He said there was no other parking around the hotel. I just didn't know what to do so I requested refund of all the charges paid and that I would then have to go to another hotel. Only then the attendant came into the car park and accepted that it may be okay but he wouldn't guarantee that I would not be get a £100 penalty. What an awful experience at that time of the night. The attendant was not only uncooperative and unhelpful but verging on to being quite rude. In the first place there is no area to stop anywhere near the reception to check in but even the car park is not properly sign posted with the Hotel name, and the only way to the reception is through the car park. This is probably the worst experience I have had at a hotel in my life. 4* ??? No proper health club. Facities so so.
