Great Window View From Upper Floors

Posted 15-Apr-2014
Pros: Staff (reception and breakfast) Great views. Fast lifts. Good breakfast.
Cons: I don't like square wash basins and the Radisson bathroom has massive ones! That's just my personal dislike, though.
Location: Hotel is close to Cardiff Central Station and there's an entrance to John Lewis and the St David's Shopping Centre across the road.
I was only there on a 1-night stopover, but was very impressed by the friendly and helpful reception staff at all times. ! was on 16th floor as I like a view and I wasn't disappointed - could see Cardiff Bay and the Bristol Channel in the distance! Breakfast was an excellent hot and cold buffet with a large choice of food. It wasn't included in my room rate, so I took a chance and paid for it when I checked in (£9.95 the day before, but £14.95 if you decide to go for it on the day!).

Convenient for station and centre of Cardiff

Posted 05-Apr-2014
Pros: Everything.
Cons: Nothing
Location: See above comments.
This hotel is only 5 minutes walk from both the rail station and bus terminus in Cardiff. It is also just over the road from access to the large new St David's shopping Centre. Staff were very helpful and welcoming. Our room on the 16th floor was well designed, large and comfortable with good clean bathroom. It had stunning views over the Bristol Channel in the distance to England. We booked breakfast the night before which gave us a good discount and the range of dishes was outstanding for a 'value' stay. I asked for a cheese omelette which was made in the kitchen and was better than many cooked at more expensive hotels. Overall we were very pleased to have chosen this for a short stay in this city. Excellent value.

Very close to the shops, easy to walk everywhere

Posted 30-Mar-2014
Pros: The location
Cons: Cheaper car parking
Location: Two mins walk from JohnLewis store
This was our second time staying at this hotel and we enjoyed the hotel very much. Just park your car in the underground car park (£15 per 24 hours) and forget about it. We walked everywhere.

Nice hotel in the City Centre

Posted 30-Mar-2014
Pros: Nice staff and comfortable and clean room.
Cons: The television did not work at first but was quickly fixed by the staff.
Location: Right in the City Centre, close to Cardiff Central station. Cardiff Castle, St David's 2 shopping centre, and the cinema are close by.
I enjoyed my stay although I did not use the restaurant or have breakfast so cannot comment on the food quality. I did not try the fitness room. The hotel bar was good although they were unable to provide a cocktail listed on the menu. The bar staff were helpful however and offered to make an alternative drink.

Very expensive, Low service

Posted 17-Mar-2014
My mom and I stayed at this hotel during the rugby 6 nations. We payed an extortionate £400 for one night only to find when we got there that breakfast was not included in the price. I expected the hotel price to be expensive considering the rugby was on but that shouldn't compromise the service given. We tried to get something to eat but got told we couldn't until 7pm even though there were people in the restaurant and there were tables free. When I went back at 7pm even then they were reluctant to book us in. For such a huge hotel there was one small bar area to relax in after the game people were sitting on the floor as there was nowhere to sit! We found out later that one of the bars had a private function on(why you would have a private function on when there are so many people stopping who were there for the rugby) and the other bar was reserved for business guests. The hotel was very clean but you only get great service if you were a VIP!!!! I would not stop here again as the service has got to be the worst I have received in a very long time.
