Great hotel in city centre

Posted 13-Oct-2014
We chose this hotel as it was right in the city centre and close to the Motorpoint Arena which we were attending a concert. Reception staff very friendly and rooms were very clean and comfortable. I had mentioned when I booked the rooms that it was my daughters birthday and she found a lovely birthday plate of cakes and sweets in her room. A nice touch. We were told on arrival that one of the lifts was broken but they had laid on complimentary refreshments in reception for the inconvenience which was nice as it wasn't that much of a problem. Breakfast was very good and we appreciated having the late check out time of 1pm on the Sunday. Would definitely visit again.

Shame about the lift

Posted 13-Oct-2014
Excellent in all respects except one lift wasn't working meaning there was a very long wait to access our room on the 19th floor. Breakfast was brilliant and staff were all great.

Modern business hotel close to the centre

Posted 10-Oct-2014
Pros: Central location, good clean and modern and although near to railway line, being on the 17th floor and with soundproof windows cut out any noise.
Cons: Disappointed with range of complimentary drinks, only beer, lager and what ever red or white wines they had left over. Room safe, more sockets.
Location: Near to train station, right opposite John Lewis. Would advise the Brazilian restaurant nearby and the Cornerhouse.
We paid the extra to stay in a Business class room. These rooms are situated from the 17th floor up. Lovely panoramic view from huge room window. Robe and slippers, complimentary water, newspaper fancy coffee maker. Very helpful staff, nice warm welcome, well maintained modern bedroom. Included in the business class is complimentary drinks and nibbles between 6-8pm and a separate breakfast room. No spirits included, ran out of Guinness and local beer, limited wine. Nibbles had to be eaten with fork, and inconsistent over 4 night stay. Probably the worst business or club facilities we have encountered as discerning mature club travellers! Separate lounge dark, chilly and uninviting. Waiters very helpful though. Rooms have no safe and only one 3 pin plug available (considering this is a business room,,inadequate!). Lifts are a joke, it can take a long time to get to ground floor on a busy morning. Having said all that, we liked the location and the good decor (no stained carpets etc) modern bathroom. Would stay again but not sure business room worth it unless they improve the range of drinks available.

Very central and comfortable

Posted 06-Oct-2014
Room was lovely. Even though its close to the rail line it's quiet. Staff could do with some training. Though it was obvious we had use the hotel parking we weren't given the exit code on checkout so had to re-park and re-enter the hotel to get it from reception. Also, we asked for a late checkout (additional £15) but our key card was blocked from the usual checkout time. Easily rectified by reception (without an apology) but annoying nonetheless. These little things make th difference between an ok stay and an excellent stay.

Very comfortable hotel ideally located for arena

Posted 30-Sep-2014
Pros: Comfortable and clean and ideally located
Location: It is in the centre therefore next to the arena and the shopping centre
We stayed here at the weekend for my birthday as we had tickets to see Riverdance at the Motorpoint arena in Cardiff. The hotel staff were extremely friendly and the hotel was ideally situated - literally a minute walk from the arena. The hotel was clean and the bed was very comfortable. We had a fantastic view (14th floor) over Cardiff and could see the bay. Food was lovely (we had a bar snack at night) and again the staff were brilliant. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone and would most definitely stay here again.

Cardiff

Posted 30-Sep-2014
Pros: Good staff and general pleasant.
Cons: Nothing really - but Cardiff's roads were a bit difficult to navigate.
Location: Central to shops, restaurants, pubs etc so no problem.
Very nice welcome from the receptionist whose name was Natalie - an excellent first impression. Rest of staff were also very good.

Lovely luxury hotel in city center

Posted 21-Sep-2014
Our stay in the Radisson Blu was brilliant, the rooms were clean, comfortable and huge, with fabulous views of the city. The only problem was the car park was closed. We were told to park in John Lewis's over the road which for 2 nights cost us over £30, not something we'd budgeted for! A part from that it was a superb hotel!
