“Will definately be going back”
Really enjoyed our stay and will be returning hopefully soon. Very convenient as it is right in the middle of Cardiff.
“Cardiff Hotel”
One of Cardiff,s best hotels. Central for all ammeneties. Staff are siciable, service second to none. wopuld recommend to any one visiting Cardiff
“This is not family friendly”
Chose this hotel as it boasts a family friendly ethos- however, you enter the hotel via a busy bar area which freaked out my daughter on arrival. The staff are not always friendly. We were put in a room which had a connecting door to another room which obviously had a party going on in it and when I complained that I couldn't get my children to sleep because of the noise I had to pay for the upgrade to another room. The hotel looks out onto the busiest part of Cardiff nightlife and, again, isn't the best place to find a chilled family atmosphere. However, nice breakfast, and the pool was great. Would definitely go back to the Hilton next time and wouldn't recommend this for a family getaway. However, if you're in Cardiff to sample the nightlife or a shopping trip - really good location for it.
“STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!”
This hotel has a good location and that's about the only good thing about it. Booked a king size bed and ended up with a room with two small beds, they told me that people can only place a request but rooms are given at their discretion.. what??? If I book something I expect to get what I asked for otherwise I would have gone somewhere else! Remember that once you book and pay through Expedia you are still liable to pay the resort fee+ tax for each night which is not cheap... this resort fee is a rip off that some las vegas hotel are scrapping because people are unhappy about this. This fee covers the usage of the pool, internet (they do not have wireless in the room!!!), use of the gym, not even access to the spa is included. All these amenities were always included in the normal price of whichever hotel I stayed in in the world. You cannot opt out of these resort fees, you have to pay even if you do not use their services!!! Also did not appreciate being searched and have to open my bag when trying to access the pool every day as you are not allowed to bring drinks but have to pay an extortionate amount of money for their drinks under the scorching sun! I thought this was really low of them.. Check out was 11am and late check out was not offered, not even by one hour, even though my room was always been cleaned at 2.30pm.. There are far better hotels that offer better services for the same amount of money, I will never stay here again!!
“This was most convenient”
We found the hotel staff extremely friendly and efficient. Our room was one of the smaller doubles, but perfectly adequate. The hotel is excellently placed for the city amenities
“Really enjoyed our stay in this hotel and would highly recommend it.”
This was an excellent centrally located hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was great, there was plenty of choice and best of all the service was from 07:00 to 11:00, nice to have a hotel which allowed for a "lie in". The check out time was 12:00, which meant you did not have to rush breakfast before leaving. Really enjoyed our stay in this hotel and would highly recommend it.
“Excellent hotel with good central location”
The hotel is very conveniently located for shopping, eating out and the Millennium Stadium and very easily accessible by rail. Our room was very large with two double beds and an excellent standard of cleanliness. The buffet breakfast offered plenty of choice. The only downside was that our room was at the front of the hotel and given the proximity of the bars opposite it was a little noisy on a Saturday night - it wouldn't put me off returning to this hotel but those affected by noise may wish to request a room at the back of the hotel. Overall it provided good value for money and I would definitely recommend it.
“Excellent standard of service.”
Great location and excellent staff. Unfortunately our first night was ruined by a party in the next room at 4a.m. In fairness the staff stopped it after I rang reception but the slamming of doors went on for over an hour. Pity really because the next night was perfect.
“Change of Venue Weekend”
Had a great 3 day weekend in Cardiff, even with the less than good weather. Everything was within an easy walk from the Hotel, to the Castle, to the stadium, to the bay et al. Good restaurants close by for Indian, Italian pub. Best pub was near the Mellenium Stadium 14 ales in casks, City Arms. Great people and overall good time.
“Convenient city centre hotel”
Travelling by rail for a weekend city break this hotel could not be more convenient. No need for a taxi as it is only yards from the station but right in the heart of the alfresco cafe eating areas. Stroll one way through the shopping streets to the castle and the other way to Cardiff Bay. Staff are welcoming and accomodation excellent. Had an exectutive room on the 9th floor and street noise was acceptable but might be a problem lower down. Lots of Hen and Stag parties in the vicinity. Tried the restaurant but as always overpriced and disappointing especially as chef's fixed price special clearly advertised outside on the pavement was not available as chef hadn't bothered to prepare a menu.
