My son and I visited CT for 4 days and according to them I booked for 2 adults. No one phoned before we arrived to confirm our booking. They couldn't help me with an explanation on how it happened; booking app's fault or theirs? Breakfast service was excellent. Our fire alarm went off twice. The reception had no idea about the fire alarm that went off at weird times - early mornings and even at night really late.
Feedback would be appreciated.
I showed up and they didn't have my reservation. The staff said they weren't familiar with Expedia. Weeks later and Expedia still won't refund me. Don't stay here!
Staff were friendly. Did not like that walk ins were not welcome at breakfast. It wasn’t like that before. At 10 pm
We asked for drinks at bar and front service said it was toooo late.
hotel is easy to get to ...quite central because of easy access to all the highways. Beautiful, quiet and nice surroundings. Rooms are spacious, mattress is really good. On site breakfast is excellent. Staff are great.
Could not wish for anything better.
this was my fourth stay here...I will be back
Charming main building makes you feel like your in the winelands yet you are minutes
from city, spacious comfortable rooms, excellent on site restaurant. Absolutely best value for money. Only drawback and reason for amazing price is the highway noise in the background. Doesn’t bother you when in your room and you can’t see it but you can hear it by pool and in public areas.
Great access to the Cape Town airport with a wonderful restaurant - great for Cape Town trips especially for early morning flights (after long evenings in the Wild Fig Restaurant)
This hotel is not only in a very difficult to find and odd location, but it felt old and run down.
As a solo female traveler I felt unsafe opening my door in the dark and would not have walked to my car. My room itself was ok but outside my door the view of a 10 foot trash pile in a parking lot.
There was no in room thermostat and I opened my balcony door at 3an to get some air as I was roasting and a man ( hopefully guest) was standing in the middle of the courtyard and spooked me. Perhaps smoking or perhaps other. Regardless I shut and locked the balcony door.
The staff was friendly but the atmosphere and Furniture in common areas looked Like grandmas house - not in a kitschy antique way but in a run down old way.
I absolutely would not recommend this hotel. Especially for a solo female traveler.
I booked it by mistake but thought maybe it would be ok as it’s near UCT
This may have been my most uncomfortable hotel stay of my adult life and I’m 50!
Amazing, amazing,amazing..place was neat and clean, staff very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was awesome. Special thanks to Zahra at front desk you were very helpful, friendly and kind.

Pleasant Retreat
Improvement could be made on the grounds. A pleasant sitting place could be created for the back garden of the ground suites.

Rooms were terribly noisy all night.
Slamming doors
Other guests shouting and kids screaming up and down corridors.
On a positive note - very central location
loved that it was not in the hub of the city but still accessible to all the attractions. Loved the peace and quiet and the feeling that we were in a little place of heaven, far from the madding crowd.
Loved the staff and that they ALL made us feel that we were the most important guests. Everyone from the check-in to the people who cleaned the floors, would stop and smile and ask how the day was going.
Breakfast included too...and a full buffet, hot and cold and all presented with a smile.
Can't beat this place. We'll be back
Good hotel.....in the process of being updated. Nice friendly staff and a good breakfast buffet. Good location just off the N2, just 10 minutes from the V&A area by car.
Really enjoyed another good stay, having been there multiple times. Although a little isolated specifically, it is located well suburb-wise for the people we want to visit.
Our suite was really comfortable with a cupboard kitchen, separate lounge area and a most comfortable, wide bed. Just have ear plugs ready as you may get noise through the night from highway traffic. But do not let this put you off. Great value for money, a straight forward drive from the airport and riverside, parkland grounds.
The property is good, the kitchen staff is amazing. The However it would be great if the property had a gym. One thing I wasn’t happy about is that the bed linen wasn’t changed until I asked for it, even then it was partly changed.
Great hotel, and adjoining restaurant. On check-in, the receptionist tried to charge me again (having pre-paid). And on check-out tried to charge more tourist levy. Just be aware of what you’ve already paid! However, they were happy to accept my side of the story, and I would stay again.
Pleasant hotel with spacious and comfortable room and excellent breakfast. Only draw back is noise from highway which is loud outside of the room when in the hotel grounds but not an issue inside the room.
