Dissapointed

Posted 26-Jul-2015
Pros: The staff were friendly
Cons: Clean the rooms, the carpet was filthy, covered in stains. Fix the buffet or ditch it completely, it was a rip off.
We booked a family room, which was cheap enough. We were planning on having dinner at the hotel and upon arrival were informed that they had a buffet dinner that night. So we paid $35 per adult for a buffet where 4 of the 10 options available were no longer available. The kids had some cold chips and crusty chicken nuggets. Had I known how bad the food was and how little of it was left there is no way I would have paid $100+ for dinner for the family. Needless to say I won't be staying here again despite the cheap room rate.

Nice hotel.

Posted 22-Jul-2015
Pros: Quiet, smooth operation, good extra pillows, warm blankets.
Cons: Bathroom soap holders could be better and filled, glasses or cups for rinsing teeth needed, $5.00 room service surcharge should be re-structured.
Location: Nearby: nothing. Nearest shopping center with restaurants etc. is Manuka, appr. 4.5 km away.
Our stay in this hotel was quite O.K. Although the hotel is rated as 4.5 star, in reality it is a 'no frill' establishment, catering for patrons with not too high expectations. Everything works, everything is clean and the room was very quiet, despite of the hotel seemed to be fully booked. The free movies on the big screen TV in the room was a welcome addition.Parking spaces quickly filled, but we still managed to find one. No mini-bar in the room and room service is a little peculiar by adding a $5.00 surcharge to orders which have to be delivered in the room. You can pick up your order yourself (I presume from the kitchen?) if you want to avoid this charge. The buffet breakfast is quite adequate, although far from 4.5 star quality. Actually we had to negotiate for it. I booked the room with the very obviously promoted 'Free breakfast' , yet on confirmation I was told that Expedia only ordered room - and no breakfast. However, the obliging receptionist (Matt) quickly changed this and we received full complimentary breakfast. Overall, staying in this hotel was quite a pleasant experience and we recommend it to anyone who wants a quite night's rest. We will stay here again.

Easy and affordable.

A relatively comfortable and clean hotel, with very friendly staff. We stayed in a family room (4 friends). Be prepared for kids running up and down the hall shouting at 6am (the family rooms must all be together!) We only arrived at 2:30am, so this was quite a surprise in the morning! The staff were also really accomodating for our late arrival.

Good location

Posted 13-Jul-2015
Pros: Location, that's about it.
Cons: Service ,while a new trainee was fantastic a duty manager was abrupt and dismissive. Parking ,Internet access, intervention to stop accessible noise.
Location: Good location
The motel had a good location and was pleasant to look at. The rooms were comfortable but not anything worth writing home about. The parking was pathetic with no designated parking spots and with the hotel booked out we often had to park a long way away. The hotel had lousy internet access given they claim free internet I used up my access just checking my emails. the worst thing was four of the five nights we were there we were exposed to screaming boys running up and down the hall way at all hours, it was obvious this was occurring and I and other patrons asked them to stop to no avail. The hotel obviously didn't bother as they were getting too much money out of the huge group that probably numbered a hundred or so patrons. I would never stay in an Ibis hotel again given the conditions and lack of action by hotel staff to stop this excessive noise, along with the pathetic parking and atrocious " free" internet access.

Pros: I liked that it was warm inside our room - alot of the reviews I had read complained about the lack of heating.
Cons: The hotel needs to address the hot water issue and the standard of cleanliness.
Had read very mixed reviews. Reception staff on arrival couldn't be faulted. The part of the complex we were in was very tired and in need of a major face lift. Our room was warm however the beds weren't the most comfortable. There was no hot water for showers either morning we were there. When I mentioned this at reception on the first day I was given a backhanded apology and assured it would be better the next morning as there weren't as many guests. When we did use the showers the bathroom flooded which wasn't very pleasant. We had booked a family room as that was all that was available and it was a little noisy but that's to be expected when there are children around. However I didn't really appreciate the budding musician practising the violin at 8am on a weekend morning. Cleaning was superficial - the drawers and even the tray the kettle was on were covered in dust and hair and the edges of the carpet hadn't been vacuumed for some time.

Budget hotel, perfect when you just want a bed

Posted 09-Jun-2015
Pros: price and location.
Cons: Restaurant service,
Location: 5 minute drive to Kingston restaurants.
Got a great deal for a log weekend in Canberra. Family of four fitted into one room with a queen bed an a bunk bed. Hotel/motel shows its age but for the rate it was great value for money. Just don't expect 5 star. And don't use the in house restaurant. Limited menu and understaffed made for a forgettable experience. Staff all eager to please but most quite junior and out of their depth; plus IT issues seemed to let them down.

Pros: Newness of the bathroom and cleanliness. A very good rate including brekky.
Cons: More bench space
Location: The location was perfect for Questacon, the National Library etc
The bathroom looked brand new and was sparkling clean. There were no old heavy ugly dark bedspreads, only crisp white sheets and quilt. Maybe the only fault was a lack of bench space for all our "stuff ". Meals from the dining room were available to eat in the room at a reasonable price. Room was not cold. All at an excellent price.
