Pros: I liked that it was warm inside our room - alot of the reviews I had read complained about the lack of heating.
Cons: The hotel needs to address the hot water issue and the standard of cleanliness.
Had read very mixed reviews. Reception staff on arrival couldn't be faulted. The part of the complex we were in was very tired and in need of a major face lift. Our room was warm however the beds weren't the most comfortable. There was no hot water for showers either morning we were there. When I mentioned this at reception on the first day I was given a backhanded apology and assured it would be better the next morning as there weren't as many guests. When we did use the showers the bathroom flooded which wasn't very pleasant. We had booked a family room as that was all that was available and it was a little noisy but that's to be expected when there are children around. However I didn't really appreciate the budding musician practising the violin at 8am on a weekend morning. Cleaning was superficial - the drawers and even the tray the kettle was on were covered in dust and hair and the edges of the carpet hadn't been vacuumed for some time.

Budget hotel, perfect when you just want a bed

Posted 09-Jun-2015
Pros: price and location.
Cons: Restaurant service,
Location: 5 minute drive to Kingston restaurants.
Got a great deal for a log weekend in Canberra. Family of four fitted into one room with a queen bed an a bunk bed. Hotel/motel shows its age but for the rate it was great value for money. Just don't expect 5 star. And don't use the in house restaurant. Limited menu and understaffed made for a forgettable experience. Staff all eager to please but most quite junior and out of their depth; plus IT issues seemed to let them down.

Close to attractions

Pros: Newness of the bathroom and cleanliness. A very good rate including brekky.
Cons: More bench space
Location: The location was perfect for Questacon, the National Library etc
The bathroom looked brand new and was sparkling clean. There were no old heavy ugly dark bedspreads, only crisp white sheets and quilt. Maybe the only fault was a lack of bench space for all our "stuff ". Meals from the dining room were available to eat in the room at a reasonable price. Room was not cold. All at an excellent price.

ibis canberra

Bed was terrrible and noise levels from neighbours very bad. Rooms not sound proof. Definitely not worth $160 pp/night. Worst hotel stay in Australia. Not at all a good stay for business travellers.

Too big, too noisy

Posted 30-May-2015
Pros: Room layout.
Cons: Doors.
The rooms here in this hotel are quite functional. I will not stay here again though due to the noise. Every night there is at least one bus load of people all seemingly oblivious to other patrons. Much worse though is the entry doors to each wing continually slamming and echoes down long straight corridors. The same goes for room doors.

Good customer service

Posted 26-May-2015
Pros: Quick, easy check in & service.
Cons: Parking.
The hair dryer was missing from the room. Reception was contacted and they were pretty quick to bring one to the room which was great at it was -6º outside and going outside with wet hair didn't appeal to me.

Well priced family hotel

Pros: The included breakfast was a nice addition.
We enjoyed our stay here, although it's quite an old hotel. The rooms were clean, tidy and quiet.

Canberra visit

Posted 19-May-2015
Pros: The staff, reasonable sized room and carparking. A short drive distance from restaurants and local attractions.
Location: Kingston foreshore and shops. Good dining at both. Manuka for shops and dining. Most well known Canberra attractions within 10-15 mins drive
Hotel chosen at random but impressed from the time we arrived with the friendly staff and a welcoming cocktail. Alternative dining recommendations were a nice touch. Overall a good stay.
