Reasonable hotel well situated for restaurants

Posted 24-Jul-2014
Comfortable room but we had a problem with the window that would not stay open and the shower which was not working-they fixed the showe for us. Breakfast preparation was very slow - We waited half an hour for the cooked breakfast and then it was CS when it arrived! Would stay elsewhere if we visited Cambridge again

Lovely stay

Posted 14-Jul-2014
This was one of the few hotels that allowed you to book for just one night at the weekend. Another big selling point was the free parking which few other central hotels offered. The location was great, overlooking the Green and just a short walk of the city. The hotel was in good decorative order, the air conditioning worked well and our room was comfortable. We didn't stay for breakfast because there are so many eateries in walking distance but I liked the fact that it was small hotel and the staff we had contact with were all courteous and helpful.

Perfect Stay

Posted 28-Jun-2014
Pros: Staff were very professional and welcoming
Cons: Nothing that I can think of
Location: Hotel is situated about 5 - 10 minutes walk to most attractions.
We stayed here for a recent graduation and although the hotel was full, everything ran very smoothly. The public areas were well maintained and we were particularly impressed by the staff who were welcoming, polite and efficient. They were attentive to all the guests and seemed very professional. Our room was very clean with a compact bathroom and walk in shower. The bed was very comfortable and a turn down service was provided which we had not expected. We have stayed in a few hotels in Cambridge and by comparison this offers very good value for money with the additional benefit of free car parking. I would definitely recommend the hotel.

Good hotel near to the centre of Cambridge.

Posted 16-Jun-2014
Cons: Only thing that we found fault with was no way to get rid of the steam in the bathroom, so was awkward for second person to use.
Location: Very central although on a busy road if you get a room at back very quiet.
Although the hotel is coming to the end of a refurbishment the staff still made you very welcome under quite trying conditions for them. The refurb is lovely the public rooms are comfortable and stylish. The bedroom we had was large, bathroom clean and modern. Breakfast was great, cooked to order. All the staff were professional and very helpful, especially a lovely Swedish guy on Reception. We would defo go back.

LOVED the air conditioning!

Posted 13-Jun-2014
Pros: As above
Cons: Only the disruption due to the refurbishment, but that's to be expected.
Location: The hotel is very close to the centre of the city which houses the main colleges and interesting buildings. It is a short walk to the river.
We had a most delightful break in Cambridge and the hotel was in a great location. It was easy to walk from the hotel to the main sights. The staff were friendly, helpful and pleasant. As it was very warm weather, the air conditioning really helped to make our stay comfortable. Unfortunately, there was refurbishment taking place which was a bit noisy at times, but it was kept to a minimum and didn't spoil our time at the hotel. We would return to this hotel if we revisit Cambridge.

Comfortable and well-located hotel

Posted 29-May-2014
Pros: Location, staff, breakfast
Location: An easy walk to the historic town centre, colleges, pubs, eateries, galleries and river with its boating activities.
This was a good hotel quite well located close to the old town and university. The staff were helpful and breakfast was wonderful. I thought it was quite expensive for a regional hotel, but then I did stay on the weekend.

Nice hotel close to town

Posted 08-Apr-2014
Pros: Location, room, free wifi and parking
Cons: Comfortable beds, quality of breakfast
Great location. 10mins walk from the historic city centre. Good sized room, free wifi and free parking. Breakfast in restaurant was average and should have gone into town. Only down side was the beds were like sleeping on a park bench! Why can't hotels understand how important this is? I would stay here again though.
