“during Tahrir protests”
Good value hotel at a convenient location, don't expect European standard of Hilton hotels and you won't be disappointed. Overall pleasant enough stay at a hotel where especially housekeeping and room service staff are very obliging.
“This hotel was amazing Hotel would not have stayed any where else in Cairo. :)”
What made the hilton so good was the amazing exception great customer service especially from Fatima and Noha who always made sure our needs where met and nothing was too much trouble for them, The roads outside can be very busy to cross but follow a local and you will be fine. The maharaja Indian Resturant was amazing and the food is to die for, We booked a City Tour of Old Cairo/Coptic Cairo islamic Cairo. Our tour guide was called Wagi, he was from a 3rd party group he has got to be the best tour guide i have ever experinced he was impartial and gave us some great history of the city. “it's quite good”
It's quite good. but the lobby being filled with men who keep staring at passing women is bothering.
“Perfect short stay base”
Ramses Hilton is located in Central Downtown Cairo. very close to Egypt Museum, adjacent to Tahrir Square metro station and only a short drive from many of Cairos tourist sights. To visit the pyramids we asked the Concierge to arrange a tour, which he did and it was excellent.
“Good location, details overlooked”
I had a very nice executive room on the 26h floor with a view of the pyramids in the distance. The waterfront and roads are quite noisy so windows must be closed at all times. Some details in the room were overlooked by staff. Coffee wasn't restocked one day and hot water was hard to come by in the bath tub. Staff is very pleasant, I would say overly so. There is nothing worse to me than a waiter coming over to your table and asking you if everything is OK when your mouth is full. Very good value hotel. Worth staying at!
“Very Friendly Staff”
The staff were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast buffet was great with a wonderful view of the Nile. Only problem is that if you want to walk, you take your life in your hands getting across some busy roads -- with no pedestrian walks.
“Not Impressed”
Location overseeing the Nile is good. Across from the museum. Alot of auto traffic next to the hotel, take care trying to cross the street. For me the Hotel Concierge was useless, no experience for a city filled with history. The hotel should invest in english classes for their front desk employees. For a little more money find you a better hotel.
“I would use this hotel again.”
The hotel staff are friendly and polite, but of course you will need to pay tips. The hotel location is walking distanceto Tahrir Square and the famous Egyptian Museum but you need to be careful while crossing the heavy traffic.
“Terrific staff”
The breakfast buffet was outstanding, as was the entire staff at the hotel. We had an 18th floor view towards Tahrir Square and the Nile and spent a lot of time just looking out at the amazing views. Highly recommended: Abou Tarek restaurant for koushary. All the cab drivers know what it is and it's not too far away in case you want to walk it. If you buy a USB modem from the vendors across the street from the hotel's main entrance, make sure to obtain the prepaid time cards yourself. We had a shady character who did it for us at the store but we did not get credited time allotment. Once you're set up with the modem, use the scratch-off prepaid cards yourself.
“It is safe hotel I like it.”
Despite the political unrest in Cairo all people were friendly and I did not suffer from any security problem. I leave in Canada and due to work commetment I have to visit my country of orogin. I did not suffer from any security concern. I will repeat my trip.
