“convenient for Eurostar travel”
Very friendly staff and ideal for a nights stop over in Brussels particularly if, like I was, travelling through to Holland by train.
“I don't think I would be going back.”
environment is good but hotel is not cleaned, is not value for money
“Grace”
This hotel was easy to locate from the train station and was a quick walk to the main parts of town. The beds and rooms were clean. The service was good they held our bags while we explored the town till check in time. They had free internet in the lobby but the key board was hard to use. The elevator needs some help! Seemed to act like it would plummet you to your death at any minuet. The only thing that sucked was the bathroom in the room. The shower curtain smelled bad and was full of mildew. Because of the size of the show you ended right next to it and you end up feeling dirtier than when you started. Fix the bathroom and you're golden!
“Did not meet expectations”
Although the front desk person was always kind and courteous and the facility was clean, the rooms and bathrooms are tiny, mattress stiff as a board, pillows flimsy, and the neighborhood is safe if you don't linger but a bit on the uncomfortable side. When we asked where it was safe to walk out to meals at night, we were assured we should walk towards downtown and NOT toward the train station from which we'd come. Brussels was busy the weekend we arrived, so there wasn't much else available and I am glad we had a room at all, but it was a place we tried to avoid most of the day and evening and only returned to get some sleep. Can't fault the staff. Probably just a low budget situation.
“Budget hotel with clean room. A nice alternative to hostel.”
The hotel is located in a residential neighborhood that is only a few minutes walk from the city center. You get what you pay for. For me, a quite, clean room with a bed is all I need at that moment. SO, it was a nice place for me. Not sure what the previous review about safety came from. I walked out of the hotel at 5:30 in the morning and didn't feel unsafe at all. The train to the airport cost only $5.2 Euro from Brussels Nord station. Why waste the cab fare?
“Good enough for small budget. Good price. Very close to MIDI station and a few blocks from downtown”
The rooms are small but comfortable. The location is very close from MIDI station in case you need to travel. A few blocks from downtown.
“Don't go!”
It's everything you should expect from a cheap hotel in a downmarket neighbourhood. Except that they did have a reservation and the guy at the desk (and the one on the phone when I called earlier) was pleasant, everything was so bad it was almost like out of a B movie. Bare wood floors, no phone in the room, no hot water in the wash basin. (The bathroom was clean.) Thankfully we arrived late night and were leaving early morning, or I would have have had to seriously consider moving out even at the cost of losing the money I'd paid.

“Convenient economy hotel”
This hotel is located at very convenient place to go sightseeing. It's close to Grand Place and safe enough to walk there. I feel that it's relatively safe area in Brussels. If someone prefers to travel Brussels economically, this hotel would be one of best choices.
“Auberge de Jeunesse”
Points forts : le prix, proche du centre à pied. Tram 3 et 4 à proximité et directs depuis la Gare de Bruxelles Midi (TGV) Points faibles : Il ne faut pas y aller seul et surtout pas pour un déplacement professionnel. L'hôtel est le plus simple du monde. L'internet est payant et il n'y a aucun autre service. Ce qu'il faut savoir c'est que le centre de Bruxelles n'est pas un quartier très fréquentable.

Area:
Brussels City Centre - Grand Place, Brussels, Belgium: A heart-shaped ring road defines Brussels city core, and most of its visitor attractions. Within these limits, the centre consists of two distinct halves. To the west is the Lower Town, a tangle of medieval streets centred on the Grand Place, a vast cobbled square surrounded by ornate Flemish buildings. To the east is the newer and more aristocratic Upper Town, a zone of palaces and parks, grand museums, and gothic churches.
