“Great Hotel and Great Location”
This is the place to stay in Bham
“Location Location Location”
Perfect place to stay for a retreat. The rooms are pretty small but clean and very modern. It is nearby to tons of restaurants and shops!
“Nice hotel with a few limitations”
Over all a very nice and hip hotel but it does have some limitations. The hotel bar is tragically chic and really not very inviting or comfortable. The rooms are nice but could more and better lighting. The bed is barely acceptable when compared to other hotels of its class, as it is very Spartan and too firm. Pillows are few and lacking in quality but the bed linens were nice. Bring your own pillow!
“Recommended with caution...”
This was a very hip hotel, but not restful. As a business traveler, I often use the hotel as just a haven for rest. I didn't find the lobby or level of service to be very relaxed or as professional as other chains. However, I WOULD recommend the hotel to someone looking for a fun place with hip, modern atmosphere. The attached restaurant was excellent. The lobby bar was far too loud to relax and enjoy a drink and unwind after a long day.
“"THE BEST"”
Great hotel, great bar and restaurant. Will definately stay here again...
“Best modern hotel in Birmingham!”
Very trendy and ultra-modern. We loved the touch-screen directory! Very convenient!
“Very nice, but lacking some of the basics”
Very modern and contemporary design of the room, lobby and sitting area. Parking deck behing hotel with easy walk-in access. Was bothered to hear music playing on elevator that I would find offensive to children lyrically, though. Also, though there was a refridgerator in the room, you have to go to the lobby AND ask the receptionist to get ice. Quite annoying from the last room on the end of the top floor. THANK YOU for being pet-friendly, though--it is nice to stay in a hotel that doesn't make you feel like you're stuck "way out back" (in the not so nice rooms) just because we had a dog with us.
“Great Stay”
Our stay at Aloft was great. A neat area with plenty of dining options within walking distance. (Consider Jackson's a block away). The room was clean and well appointed. We were on the 5th floor so noise was not a problem. View was nice - Vulcan on the mountain. The staff was friendly. No other charges during our stay. Covered parking. The only problem we had was no signal for NBC, so we couldn't watch the Olympics. We will stay again.
“Birmingham's Best Kept Secret”
I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The checkin staff was polite and helpful. The room was clean and very comfortable. Everything was very nicely laid out. I enjoyed everything about this hotel. Even the checkout went well. The staff was very helpful at checkout and even gave me directions to get to my next destination.
“Over Rated”
The hotel aloft was very over rated for the price the building was actually converted into a hotel there was not enough lighting in the rooms the view i had in my room was the back of a condemed building, you were charged 25.00 a day for incidentals which will take up to ten days to get your money back and they had no incidentals also for the price contenintal breakfast should have been offered at least hot coffee they wanted you to pay 3.00 for a cup of coffee the only eatery in the area was a jacks would not recomend at this time you may want to do a comfort inn for less in price and more in ammenities.
