Fox Cottage is a delightful grade II listed cottage dating back to the 1780’s and can be found just a short stroll from the centre of the historic town of Beverley in the East Riding of Yorkshire. Retaining many of its original features, it is ideal for couples or friends, this retreat promises a memorable stay and is perfectly placed to explore the Yorkshire Wolds as well as the stunning coastline.
The living room offers exposed wooden floors and a cosy wood burner for the cooler winter months, here you can snuggle up on an evening to enjoy a relaxing night in front of the TV. French doors open up into the dining room. The dining table provides plenty of seating for four and is the ideal place to gather together to plan the day events. The galley style kitchen sits close by with a host of appliances including an electric oven and hob and a washing machine. There is plenty of work top space from which to prepare a hearty breakfast or a delicious evening meal. Traditional cottage stairs take you to the first floor of Fox Cottage and here you will find two well presented double bedroom, each with soft furnishings and in built wardrobes. A quirky house bathroom completes the accommodation with a free standing bath and shower attachment; the sloping ceiling really adds character to this room. Outside you will find additional seating on the patio that also has a raised decked area. This sunny spot is perfect for an early morning coffee or a relaxing afternoon in the sun.
Opposite Fox Cottage is Beverley Beck which is perfect for an evening stroll of perhaps enjoy a boat ride on one of the leisure boats. Beverley is a gem of a town with it’s towering gothic Minster, pretty market squares, cobbled streets and beautiful Georgian townhouses. It is steeped in history and offers a plethora of independent boutiques and tea rooms and is famous for its café culture and Michelin starred restaurants. Take a stroll out of town and explore Westood, a vast pasture home to a racecourse and golf course. It’s also offers walking and cycling opportunities. Within a short drive of Beverly is the thriving seaside town of Hornsea with its Victorian promenade and sandy beach and inland the Yorkshire Wolds are waiting to be explored. The historic market town of York is under an hours drive away as are the stately homes of Castle Howard, Burton Agnes Hall and Sledmere House.
