Wonderful
Big shout out to Simon who runs this hotel superbly the staff were attentive,friendly and professional.Breakfast was wonderful and dinner was a treat. The bed was one of the most comfortable I have slept in.Very welcoming and I will return.

Would definitely stay here again
The entire staff was delightful. Breakfast was delicious and so was dinner in the Victoria restaurant. Rooms are modern and very clean. Great location for hiking. Highly recommend.

Fabulous Property
Stay at The Victoria, Meiringen and you won't be disappointed. From the warm welcome, a comfortable room with a welcoming fruit basket and a breakfast with a wide variety of choices. A lovely gesture is the iced tea that you can help yourself to throughout the day and late afternoon iced coffee and cakes are provided on the house. In winter I was told gluhwein replaces the coffee.

Convenient and Best Restaurant in town
Upon arrival we are welcomed by the front desk and explained thoroughly to where our room is. Only downside is I find there is no air conditioning in the hotel and the days we arrived is pretty warm. Restaurant is excellent with breakfast included and it is very convenient close to train station and town.

Great Little Hotel in the Heart of Switzerland.
Great location across from the railway station and a beautiful place to wake up in the morning. Had a great view of the mountains. Staff were really friendly and the breakfast was great. A really comfortable place to stay. The only down side was the lack of a refrigerator in the room but this is normal for this part of the world. It was just that when I was there it was really hot and sunny and the place isn’t really designed for summer conditions. I certainly would stay here again.

Great stay near the Reichenbach Falls
The management and staff couldn’t have been more solicitous, helpful or anxious to please. The food is excellent. The location is great as well, in the heart of town with a view of the Reichenbach Falls. My room was comfortable, clean and had all the necessities, if a bit plain, but that was fine for me. Being within eyeshot of the train station was a minor detraction, but again might mean more to others than it did to me. And the Sherlock Holmes Museum is immediately across the street. I felt very well cared for. It was a great stay.

Good modern hotel.
The hotel is a nicely renovated house in town. Very modern room and clean. Staff was friendly and let me checkout a few minutes after regular time. Breakfast was good and choices available. All in all a nice clean stay.

We accidentally booked three rooms instead of only two. The hotel was not busy at all. The owner refused to compromise and refund us for the third room or at least compromise and not make us pay full price for an honest mistake. We did not realize we had a third room until we arrived. Expedia tried to speak with the owner, but they too were unable to get us a refund. The hotel was not booked, very few people. We think the owner just needed the extra $700.00. He was very rude and unwilling to do anything for us even after we spent $250.00 in his restaurant the first night we were there. We did this in hopes he would come around, but it did not work. Awful customer service. The beds are very hard and there is a construction site next door - awful noise.

Thank you for your comments - although through this channel. You booked three rooms online and three rooms were ready for you on arrival. Our cancellation policy is clearly stated. We feel that your comment that you were treated in an unfriendly manner is not correct. We were friendly and respectful despite your uncalled for behaviour. We were dumbfounded by your threats of not eating in our restaurant and writing a bad review. A reaction as such was completely uncalled for in this situation. We have been running our hotel for 25 years with a great deal of commitment. The welfare of our guests and genuine hospitality is extremely important to us. We walk the talk – every day. A Wonderful Place To Stay

Good modern hotel in centre of Meiringen
Excellent modern hotel right in the centre of Meiringen by the station, next to the Sherlock Holmes Museum and within sight of the Reichenbach Falls, in fairly easy walking distance (20 minutes) to the funicular railway. Good breakfast buffet and hot dishes if you ask for them. The staff were very friendly. We were found a room despite the booking not having transferred through from Hotels.com, and were even given an upgrade to a "medium" room. The room wasn't that large even so, but comfortable for us as a couple.

Contemporary central hotel
Main reason for our visit was to do the Trift Bridge walk, cable car and a hard and hot 90 minute walk up,but well worth it, you need a good head for heights.

Best 3 star hotel
Best 3 star hotel I ever stayed in. Deserves an additional star. boutique like hotel with beautifully modern decorated rooms. Extremely friendly stuff , especially the owners. Best restaurant in town with nice terrace. Qualifies as a 4 star hotel. Only place to stay in Meiringen ! Fills up fast .

A wonderfully run hotel with lots of attention to
A lovely hotel in an excellent location close the railway station. Our room was beautifully decorated with lots of attention to detail, a welcoming message, nice toiletries, a fruit bowl etc. The owners gave individual attention to all their guests and gave useful information about surrounding area. While we were staying it was very hot and therefore air conditioning in the room would have made it more comfortable at night. Breakfast was excellent with a lovely waitress making our tea to order in a proper teapot and offering a cooked dish if required. Overall I would highly recommend a stay at this hotel.

The hotel staff was amazing. After leaving Switzerland we flew to Paris and stayed in a 5 star hotel there. The service and quality of the Hotel Victoria was in our opinion even better than the 5 star hotel in Paris. The breakfast was amazing so make sure you get a room included with breakfast. If you like attention to detail this hotel is for you. The room was clean and smelt nice. Everything about the Hotel was nice. Fun things to do around the area and it is a short drive to interlaken.

Over night stay
Stopped here as an overnight break on way to the Rhone Valley. Will spend more time here next time. Very friendly hotel staff, clean and well maintained room with all needs catered for. Easy to find and well situated. Overall a good experience and value for money.

I stayed here on a driving Alps tour and first impressions from the rear of the hotel it looks a bit scruffy ,getting out of my car there was a pile of cigarette butts on the floor,but once inside the hotel it is very nice

Wounderful food, friendly staff & an amazing hotel
My husband and I enjoied our stay in Victoria. It's three minutes walk from the train station. The room was comfortable with a nice view of the mountains. The food was really amazing. The atmosphere of the hotel is cozy & quite. The owner/chef is so kind, friendly & helpful.

This hotel has been refurbished to a fabulous level. Every detail of the rooms, service and public areas has been carefully planned. We loved our stay and want to find an excuse to return. Have already recommended to family.

Fantastic Hotel!
Very good location,walking distance to main attractions in Meiringen. The room was fantastic, modern, clean and had all the amenities required. Very personal touches such as a welcome note and complimentary fresh fruit in the room. We had dinner in the Bistro which was first class cuisine and very reasonably priced. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet was also excellent. Probably the best hotel we have stayed at!!

Lovely convenient Hotel
This Hotel was only a 5 minute walk from the railway station, right in the middle of town. The staff were very helpful and the room was excellent, not too large that it becomes impersonal breakfast was very good , and the restaurant was very unexpected, such good quality with an Asian theme ate there every night, would really recommend it, although a bit pricey.

Food lovers and Holmes fans wil love this hotel
The hotel is central and opposite the Sherlock Holmes museum -well worth a visit-and fortunate for us as it rained constantly. From the bedroom window we could also see the famous Falls where Holmes fell to his death whilst struggling with his enemy. The hotel was very welcoming, with coffee and refreshments available all day in the lobby. The staff were multi lingual and most helpful. But the best bit of all was the fabulous food. We ate in the restaurant-there is a bistro available-and while the food was pricey it was well worth the money. The chef/owner came to ask how we found the food and gave the impression that he really cared.
