“not 4 star”

had a superior double bed room - nothing superior about it - the toilet and shower unit extremely small - kept knocking my elbows into the shower walls - no space even to bend down to clean your feet without knocking into something. even when drying myself needed to take great care not to let the towel touch the toilet. also the wash basin was outside the toilet/shower unit which was not that convenient. views were good - could see parliament house and the cathedral. breakfast - cooked - was quite expensive. staff friendly and helpful. for a large hotel car parking spaces inadequate - had to park on road side once with sticker provided by the hotel to state i was resident there.

Area recommendations
arcades for window shopping - items too expensive to buy. parliament house.

good food and desserts at brasserie barengraben - near the bear garden - phone to reserve seatings. also good was goldener schlussel.

“Good for business travelers not families”

The room was minimalistic, small, but very clean. The outside of the hotel was dreary and we were nervous when we checked in but it was a typical business hotel which would appeal to many travelers. It had a bus stop outside of it and was less than 10 minutes from all the action. Of all the hotels we stayed in during our vacation this was our least favorite because we weren't within walking distance of restaurants and stores and it was too business-like for a family vacation.

“Great choice for us”

Husband, myself, and teen son on trip to Switzerland. Not too many choices for 3 person room. This is a very reasonably priced business hotel. The room was small but clean. The staff was lovely. It is not really a walkable distance to the old town but for a small fee, you can take the tram from the train station and be there in 5 mins. The trams run every 3 minutes. And the tram lets out right across the street from the hotel. It was unseasonably hot when we were there so airconditioning was quite a welcome change from the other places (more pensions) where we stayed, though the other places were more charming. This was the most reasonably priced of all the places we stayed and I would recommend it for what it is-a clean, reasonably priced business hotel with good service.

Traveller's tip
We took the tour inside the clock tower (get tickets at the tourist bureau in the train station) which is offered each day at 2:30. If you are mechanically inclined, interested in clocks, or history, this was really worth it. It was fascinating and we were the only people there that day so we got our own private tour.

“No complaints”

I stayed at the Ambassador for four nights in July and had a good experience there. I was in Bern for the Gurten music festival, so the hotel was an ideal location. I could reach the concert venue by walking or taking the tram a few blocks. It was also easy to hop the tram from the hotel and get into the city center in 10 minutes or less. The hotel is not anything spectacular, but it was clean and quiet. The parking garage was small, but free. I would stay there again.

Traveller's tip
This hotel is very close to the Gurten (mountain) recreation area, which has nice panoramic views of Bern, hiking trails, a park and children's playground, restaurant, etc.

“berna”

Hotel strategico...appena fuori dal centro comodissimo x arrivarci! Ottima vista dalle camere! Personale cordialissimo!

“Non piu' di due stelle”

Struttura anni '70 mal tenuta. Camera sporca, con macchie su mobili. Lenzuola bucate, asciugamani sporchi e con cattivo odore. Colazione estremamente parca nella scelta e "sobria" nell'ambiente per 17 euro! Il tutto porta ad un giudizio di una ... massimo 2 stelle! Veramente deludente.

“Ottimo Hotel appena fuori il centro di Berna”

Camera al sesto piano con fantastica vista su Berna . Comodo parcheggio riservato agli ospiti dell'hotel di fronte all'ingresso. Dall'hotel si raggiunge rapidamente il centro città. Personale cordiale e disponibile.

Traveller's tip
Se non si hanno problemi di vertigini o simili, consiglio di alloggiare nelle camere ai piani alti con vista su Berna.
