“Best location possible”

Great, basic clean hotel with the best location possible. A u Bahn station 5 mins away, bus stop just outside the hotel, a pharmacy, utility store & a 24 hr internet coffee really close by. Granted it's not The Ritz but I was there in May & on returning to Berlin in December, I didnt even consider changing hotel.

“Impressed”

Hotel was good, convenient to Taxi rank, bus stop. For being on a main road it was remarkably quiet. It was a little way out from the Christmas Market but if you did not mind a walk it was ok.

“Perfect hotel location”

We stayed this hotel during 12-16th of October 2011. First we want to note about this hotel is the location, in the midle of Kudamm not far from subway Adenauerplatz. Hotel room was warm, nice and clean, but with 2 beds. There are several cafe and tea-rooms nearby the hotel and it is easy to find the place to have a lunch or dinner. On the reception you can get a Berlin map with free of charge. Staff polite and friendly. We rented a car and parked it at night on the parking opposite the hotel free of charge from 7 p.m. till 9 a.m. and we didn't use the hotel parking (10 € per night). So, if you want to go to Berlin, this hotel is good value for money, especially because of the location.

“Good base for”

Good hotel overall - very pleasant and helpful staff, good value, good location if you want to be in the West and/or prefer to be just outside of the noisy/busy Mitte. It's still the Centre, but a quiet Centre. The only drawback I found was that the hotel didn't have an iron - either in the room or even at the reception. Their own dry cleaning is very expensive, so I had to take my shirts to a local dry cleaning company - it worked, but it's totally ridiculous. Otherwise, this hotel is a really good base for exploring Berlin from the West Eastwards.

“Clean, Great location and transport links”

Ideal hotel. Great location in the West of the city close to transport links. Plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby. The room was very clean and comfortable and all staff very helpful and friendly. Great Italiian cafe/restaurant on the corner of building called Penne Pomdoro. Great food at a low price. We had breakfast and dinner in here a few times.

“Great Hotel”

As a solo traveler doing research in Berlin for 2 weeks, I chose this hotel because it was in a good location, has full private bathrooms, recently renovated, and it was one of the least expensive I found on Expedia. I was definitely not disappointed! My room was on the top floor of the hotel and had a balcony with a table and chairs overlooking the Ku'damm- absolutely perfect! (there are only a few rooms with balconies) The hotel was not filled with tour groups or many young travelers. The breakfast buffet was a typical German breakfast buffet, though I was surprised to see scrambled eggs and sausages. I did the buffet only a couple of times, but 10 Euros per day is bit pricey. Almost every morning I went across the street to a Starbucks and not only ate for less money, but also was able to use free Wifi. The hotel has internet but, when I was there, it cost 2 Euros for an hour and 10 Euros for 24 hours and you could only use it in the lobby. The bathroom was not stocked with a small hand towel, so I bought my own for about 2 Euros each at a Karstadt department store several blocks away. They provided a hair and body wash only. Overall the hotel and my room were great and I would definitely stay there again.

Getting there
A taxi ride from the airport to the Come Inn K'udamm Berlin was at most 18 Euros.
Getting around
Taxis are usually on the median of the Ku'damm right outside the hotel. There is also a bus stop right outside the hotel, but I didn't really use the bus system while I was there. Adenaurplatz and the U7 line of the U-Bahn (Berlin's longest) are just a block away to the west on the Ku'damm - from there it's about a 15 minute ride south/east to the Mehringdamm stop, where you can take the U6 north into the city center. Uhlandstrasse station and the U1 are 6 blocks to the east on the Ku'damm - either take the bus there or it's a nice walk. From the U1 you can take a couple of routes to get to the city center or East Berlin. There's constantly work being done on the U & S-Bahn system so expect route changes - these will be posted. Charlottenburg S-Bahn stop is about 3-4 blocks from the hotel and can take you to some of the biggest stops, such as the Zoologischer Garten, the main train station (Haupt Bahnhof), Friedrichstrasse (the city center), Hackescher Hof and Alexanderplatz in former East Berlin. It took me a few days to realize how close and convenient this was. You can buy a transportation pass for a certain number of days (Since I was there for 2 weeks, I did 2 7-day passes). Make sure to validate your ticket before getting on for the first time. The subway and S-Bahn do have undercover people who will check your tickets and if you are onboard without a valid one, you'll probably be charged 40 Euros. I experienced the 'ticket check' on the S-Bahn to Potsdam.
Dining
A few blocks away from this hotel is Marjellchen, a restaurant which specializes in old German cuisine. Though there are other restaurants in Berlin featuring 'old German' cuisine, this one is simply the best, and features dishes from pre-WWII areas of Germany (Silesia, East Prussia, etc). Each dish tastes like a home-cooked meal and the owner makes sure to come up to your table at least once to make sure you're enjoying your experience. *Make sure you make a reservation at least a few hours before going, though you may be able to sit outside or in the small entrance/bar era without one, as I did especially being a solo traveler. Located at the corner of Mommsenstrasse and Schlueterstrasse. If you love coffee, go to the Berliner Kaffeeroesterei on Uhlandstrasse barely a block south off the Ku'damm. They have fantastic lattes with 'latte art' and coffees from the around the world served with french presses. A great authentic Berlin coffee experience! Rogacki, a neighborhood market, deli, and cafe is only a couple of U-Bahn stops away (U7 - Bismarckstrasse) from the hotel. Anthony Bourdain said this was where he had the best meal in Germany and that if there's a heaven it's catered by Rogacki. The 'mixed fish plate' was absolutely delicious, and the service was very friendly, helpful, and entertaining. I should've gone here more than once.
Other
Internet/Wifi - I brought my iPhone to Berlin (only for internet access) and had my computer with me. Free, password-less Wifi is rare in Berlin, though there is a Telekom network (T-Mobile) which you could pay for. I suggest familiarizing yourself with the location of the Starbucks in Berlin - there's at least one in each major tourist area. This was the only consistent place I found for free, password-less Wifi.

“I would go back there, in a heartbeat”

Everything conveniently located by hotel. Did not try the breakfast at this hotel. Just went across the street and ate at Star Buck's for breakfast. When you walked out of the hotel, and across the block, the stores around there were Rolex, Gucci, Cartier and others. For a nice hotel that wasn't that expensive, you felt like you were living on Park Avenue. Anyway, very friendly staff. Clean hotel rooms. Nice huge bathtub to soak in after a day out in Berlin. Enjoyed my stay there, immensely. Oh and another thing... just around the corner from the hotel is a restaurant named "The Cayenne", a must go. Excellent food and wonderful customer service also.
