We only had breakfast there but that too was very good, well coked and good portions. attention to detail and eco friendliness is evident too, and the hosts said they will soon be upgrading the outdoor pool to solar powered heating. "The hotel is really close to The Historic Dockyard, the reason for our visit and had a vacancy. The room was great, lovely comfortable bed with good quality bedding and towels. The en-suite was compact but modern and clean. We had a harbour view looking at HMS Warrior and although right on the road with the trains and buses nearby the room was really quiet. Breakfast was included in the price and provided a great start to the day with continental and cooked available. The staff were friendly,...

"Very small room but comfy needed facilities to be able to sit and eat if wanted but no room to do so. Facilities very limited. Breakfast was amazing though and nice en-suite. Fabulous location too."

"The hotel is a striking and unusual building, very handsome, though we would have appreciated better signs - the rooms in the 400s, which had to be accessed through the library, were difficult to find when first arriving. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and we appreciated the location of the hotel, near the seafront sights (the Mary Rose museum, Nelson's flagship Victory, etc) and the ferry ports. Everything clean and well maintained."

"We had a wonderful 14 day stay in a 1-bedroom apartment on the top floor. The area around the Mansion is beautiful, walkable nature parks and fields. It is very quiet and secluded in a safe, clean area close to shopping and eateries. The restaurant at the mansion - Becketts was such a bonus to our stay. Everything we ordered was delicious and the Full English Breakfast was a huge hit for my husband, and I really enjoyed the Avocado toast and then there was the dessert case...so yummy! The room...

"I enjoted my stay at the hotel. The old world experience of staying in a building that was built for people and not for profit was great. The room size was very generous and I felt comfortable. The fittings were all in good order and well maintained. The view of the roof immediately outside the window was not what I had hoped for but it did show that maintainence on the roof was needed. The small beech trees growing on the rafters needs urgent attention. The shower also needs a clear warning...
