“Really good Hotel -- BUT the worst WIFI ever”

Great hotel, I have stayed at a few in Bangkok and this is the best do far. Location requires a little bit of a walk if you want the night life. However, I cannot fault anything, really fantastic. Just One thing if your a business customer like myself. You will hate the temperemental Internet wifi. It was terrible, and for a hotel of this size and cost, it was terrible. HOwever, if the internet not your priority, then stay in this place, you will love it.

“Would stay here again”

Good quality hotel close to transport providing easy access via Skytrain or MRT to all major shopping areas including Jatujak (Chattachuk) weekend market. Hotel will also arrange taxis for local and day tours although I found the service provided by the taxi group waiting outside hotel was also excellent for this purpose. Large, very clean room with good features eg. deep bath, separate shower with massaging shower head, microwave & safe. Excellent breakfast options. Fabulous pool. Staff very helpful with some patience in communication required due to limited English if unusual situations arise. Special mention to house maid on 8th floor for her work.

“A Pleasant Surprise”

I travel a lot and hotels frequently don't live up to the expectations created by the descriptions and photos posted online. Legacy Suites was an exception in which the actual conditions exceeded what I was expecting from the descriptions posted on Expedia. It was located near a trndy street with lots of activity and a few minutes walk from a Sky Train station, making it easy to access most of Bangkok for a day pass. The staff were friendly and helpful and the overall level of English was good.

Area recommendations
The Silom area contains a large market are along the sidewalks and contained many Bars and restaurants.
Getting around
The main ferry system provides access to all the major sites along the river and a very reasonable all day pass can be purchased which allows unlimited use. However, at many of the stops, you will be mobbed by touts trying to sell additional tours or lead you into alternate "shortcuts" to the attractions. They are particularly bad at the Maharaj Pier leading to the Royal Palace. They will try to get you to pay them to get you into the complex through a side entrance, claiming that "only Thai people" are allowed in through the main entrance. This is not true and if you are caught inside the palace without an official ticket, you will be forced to leave. They even wear official looking ID's and claim "I would here" and demand that you follow them. Obviously, its best to avoid them or push past them. The staff at Legacy Suites did warn us about them and suggest a guided tour but we did not believe that they could be as bad as they were. Visitors should also be aware that shorts (for both genders) and bare arms (for women) are not allowed into the palace complex and you will be forced to borrow (for a refundable deposit) sweats-type clothes to cover up the exposed parts. However, be warned that they are very hot to wear for the couple of hours that it takes to see the main sites inside the complex. Its better to wear your own clothes. Other than that, the Palace complex (with several temples) is fantastic and a "must see".

“Good hotel but”

Stayed an extended time at this hotel in a Legacy Suite. Thought the service was very good. The room was spacious and the cleaning ladies were awesome. I think they should definitely improve their room service menu as the choices were not that wide and because of the location there was always a 5 minute walk to get anything to eat or cab. Breakfast was ok but they should do a better job keeping the food warm. One other thing I like the temperature of the shower water, to be steaming hot I could never get it more than luke warm.

Area recommendations
Check out the Grand Palace. The Emporium mall is a 5 minute walk from the hotel, kind of high end. Definitely check out the BTS train to get around the city. I saved time using the BTS instead of a cab to get to places like the MBK mall and the Silom rd area.

“Simply marvelous!”

Loved this place! We spent two weeks there and we couldn't be more happy. Rooms were very well equipped and maintained. The pool was such a relief on those hot muggy days. The staff was very helpful, knowledgeable and courteous. Location was about a block off Sukhumvit Road and this kept down the noise, but was close enough for a short walk to the Skytrain or Metro. Tons of shopping close by as well as medical services in the RSU tower and so forth. We'll stay here every time if we can.

Area recommendations
I didn't like Bangkok last time I was there about 20 years ago. However, the air is very clean now due to the prohibition of 2 cycle motorcyles and tuk tuks, and the operation of most vehicles on natural gas. Also the streets seem to be immaculate!

“Good value hotel”

Legacy Suites was a good choice for my friend and I. We had stayed in a couple of 5 star hotels in Bangkok 3 months earlier and I thought this hotel stood up to comparison with them. The location is good - about a 10 minute walk to a skytrain station and the excellent Emporium shopping centre. The room was clean and spacious and, as always in Bangkok, the staff were anxious to please. My only quibbles were the poor wifi signal and the fact that the room had an adjoining door to the next room. That's fine if the neighbours are quiet but, about halfway through our 9 night stay, the family from hell arrived with screaming kids who took delight in kicking the door. We complained to reception and, astonishingly, the family were asked to leave never to be seen again ( at least by us ). I wonder if this approach would work with airlines ??

“2 Thumbs Up!”

We stayed in the new modern building which some sections were still under renovations but we were never disturbed. Staff are very friendly and helpful in arranging taxi's, dinner reservation, sights to see and even giving directions. Sky train is afew minutes walk which is 4 or 5 stops away from all major shopping centres. Rooms are very clean and spacious with every facilty needed i.e hair dryer, microwave safety deposit box. Will definately come back and recommend to others

“Wonderful Hotel in BKK”

Great hotel, wonderful staff, clean and modern. The only complaint I may add is the morning buffet service is a little bit confuse when it comes to having your eggs cooked. The girl with the braces at the egg station seems to be confuse, but other than that the property itself is simply wonderful.
