“Great location, mediocore hotel”
The hotel is in a great location close to the Acropolis and many other attractions, but the staff was not very helpful, the beds are uncomfortable and the hotel needs to be updated. They do serve an awesome breakfast from the rooftop deck with a great view of the Acropolis.
“Good hotel, good staff, great location”
It's not a fancy hotel, but it has good staff, comfortable beds, good aircon, and a great location in the middle of the plaka area.
“Great location”
The hotel itself is clean and staff friendly. The breakfast area is on the roof top garden with fantastic views of the Acropolis. Food is good with a selection of hot and cold food. Rooms are on the smallish side and the shower is only tiny but adequate. Cleanings done daily and towels changes every day. All rooms have balconies. We were at the back of the hotel without a view. It was very quiet at night so no problem getting some sleep. Rooms at the front were probably a little noisy overlooking the street and square. If you pay a little more and go for a superior room on the 3rd floor the balcony has a great view of the Acroplois which is lit up at night, but only if you get a room at the rear of the hotel. Its easy to get to the hotel from the Monasteraki Metro station - make sure you take a street map with you though as the hotel map isnt that good. We got a metro train from the airport which took about 45 minutes and its cheap.
“Worth staying at”
A quiet hotel in a fantastic location within easy walking distance of the Acropolis and of most of the historical sites (plus surrounded by restaurants and cafes) make this an excellent choice for staying in Athens. The hotel itself is fine value for money, with the fresh-squeezed orange juice making breakfast on the roof with a view of the Acropolis a real treat!
“Adrian Hotel easy to find”
What a great location! The Adrian is several blocks up the hill from Monistiraki station and around the corner, but a little difficult to negotiate with luggage. It's easy to miss because it is just another doorway in the Plaka with shops on either side of it. That means the rooms have no view. However, you just have to step outside the door to find good tavernas, souvenir shops and ruins (it's near Hadrian's library). I was afraid that a taxi to the airport wouldn't be able to get to this narrow street but it's not a problem at all, and it's a fixed price. The rooftop breakfast room is its greatest asset - it is just above the other rooftops, so you have a beautiful view of the Acropolis.
“Good small hotel”
I loved my hotel! The only problem was when the cleaning lady insisted on coming into my room while I was sleeping to put a table in the outside balcony. Totally unnecessary.
“Quiet but still close to the center of the old town”
The location of this hotel suited us very well. It's in on the edge of the old part of Athens and from the roof terrace you can see the acropolis. Because thsi is the old town area with it's narrow streets there was very little road traffic and no large buses or trucks which made this a surprisingly quiet area to stay in. The rooms were clean and reasonably comfortable and ours had a balcony looking across to one of the restaurant filled squares which provided a nice place to sit and have an evening cocktail before heading out to dinner. There is a good choice of eating establishments within a few minutes walk and a buffet breakfast is provided on the roof terrace each morning. There is a mini trolley car stop just along the road from where you can do a tour through the narrow old town streets. A 15 minute walk is all that was needed (and we are slow walkers) to get to the closest stop for the larger hop-on-hop-off tour buses. The only downside to the room was the bathroom where the shower was so small you could barely turn around and the bar for hanging towels on were not very well placed.
“A returning customer”
THis is our third stay at the Adrian hotel. It is a compact , warm and centrally located hotel - ideal for seeing Plaka and the Accropolis by foot. THe staff are extremely helpful and the roof terrace for breakfast is a tourists dream, with views directly to the Accropolis. WE will be returning next year
“great place”
Totally excellent. Simple, clean, convenient. We liked it so much, we decided to stay all week and make excursions from there. Lovely breakfasts. Plenty of hot water. Only negative? It was hard to find from the metro station - in that neighborhood, you need more specifics than "150 meters from metro"! Get details beforehand!
“Little far from Metro stop, but a good hotel to stay in”
Most hotels in the Plaka area are decent and there are plenty of shops and restaurants/cafes to go to. At night you get an incredible view of the Parthenon/Acropolis from most areas within the Plaka area.

Area:
Plaka, Athens, Greece: Quaint and touristy, Athens oldest residential quarter sits in the shadow of the Acropolis. Plakas narrow cobbled streets are lined with bougainvillea-clad neoclassical mansions, souvenir shops and pseudo-traditional tavernas, some with live music. A village atmosphere prevails, despite the crowds. Close to all the top sights, it makes the best base for a short stay.
