Room wasn’t ready on arrival at 3pm, but we were happy to walk along the parade until it was ready. Location is fantastic and the building is charming. Air conditioning was noisy so hard to sleep with it on. Pillows didn’t provide enough head support. Would bring your own or ask for more.

The location of this hotel is just great as it is right in the Main Street where all the restaurants are, and the ferry, plus it is lake front. The hotel is old as expected but well maintained, it is definitely an experience to stay in the last room of the tower which has the best view from all. The only problem is that to get to the room you have to take stairs very narrow and go up about two-three floors more after using the elevator up to certain point. The parking IS NOT free, there is a fee that you will be charged at check out!! Unable to use the pool as the weather was cold and they do not heat the water after mid April or so... I find this very disappointing. The breakfast was ok, fruits, cereals, cheeses, ham, salami, juices, coffee, yougurts and variety of breads. The price is too high but I guess it Is ok for one time in life to experience one of its rooms.

Lovely weekend in Ascona
The hotel Castello Seechloss was exactly as we hoped. Perfect location on the lake promenade, beautifully restored castle, and super friendly and helpful staff. Ascona, and the Castello has all the charm of Italy with the efficiency of Switzerland. Only way our stay could have been better was if our room overlooked the lake and had a balcony- will definitely request that next time!

Most romantic hotel
My wife fell in love with me all over again just for picking this hotel. The hotel is beautiful and romantic. It is right on the lake and our room had a view of the lake. Everything was just amazing. Breakfast was included and it was wonderful. Only couple of minor things to remember. The internet in the room was extra. Considering the caliber of the hotel and the price, this should have been included. They did offer free internet in the lobby of the hotel or free use of their computer which was nice. The room did not have AC. We ended up leaving the window open to get some fresh air and bring down the room temperature.

Die Unterkunft war sehr schön. Das Personal sehr freundlich. Das Frühstücksbuffet war nicht wie in einem 4-Sterne-Hotel! Es gab jeden Tag dasselbe Plättchen mit 3 Sorten Wurst: Salami, Schinken und Lyoner. Das war nach 5 Tagen etwas langweilig. Da bekamen wir in einem 3-Sterne-Hotel schon viel mehr!

Very charming from outside. However, we were very disappointed by our room. It had a beautiful view of the lake, but that is where the romantic feel stops... old fashioned, very small and we really did not feel well in it. At 460chf/per night (rate for a superior double room), we would have expected much more.

je vais au Tessin pour apprendre le Schwitzertütsc
Très bel Hôtel de charme, calme, situé dans un endroit proche de toute visite (culturelles - géographique - historique...) le seul bémol: on y parle essentiellement allemand...mais dans le Tessin on y apprend le Schwitzertütsch.... tous les suisses le savent! (C'est dit sans méchanceté); le personnel de l'Hôtel parle 4 langues.

Gute Lage mit fragwürdiger Geschäftspolitik
Wir buchten kurzfristig einen Zwischenstopp in Ascona. Ein Doppelzimmer für 2 Personen für eine Nacht. Nach langer Autofahrt von Italien kommend wurde uns an der Rezeption von diesem Zimmer abgeraten es sei sehr klein für 2 Personen schmales Bett wir sollen doch ein grösseres nehmen mit Aufpreis von 30%. Müde wie wir waren nahmen wir das grössere Zimmer finden es jedoch fragwürdig ob dieser Geschäftspolitik. Das Zimmer war schön mit Balkon im 2. Stock leider ging der Lift nicht. Das Frühstück ist reichhaltig und mit gutem Service.

Hotel Castello, empfehlenswert für gute Fußgänger
Für gehbehinderte Personen, z.B. mit Rollator, wegen vielen Treppen und steilem Zugang mit Kopfsteinpflaster eher ungeeignet. Die Information betreffend Essensmöglichkeiten, à la carte, oder Halbpension, ist verbesserungsfähig. Das "Castello" aus unserer Sicht ein "Schönwetter-Hotel", bei schlechtem Wetter düster und "langweilig" (romantisch??)...
