Great location right downtown - near stadium, city park, major mall all within easy walking distance. Friendly staff with excellent service. Great free breakfast buffet. Wide variety of excellent food in hotel restaurants.
My first surprise was that no one at reception when I checked in spoke even a little English. I indicated with sign language that I would like a room on a high floor and was assigned a very pleasant room on the top (13th) floor with nice views of the area, The location is an easy walk to the TV tower with an observation deck from which you can see almost all of the cities important structures. I recommend going there soon after arrival to get your bearings of the layout of the city. A huge shopping center is only about a half block from the hotel with probably 30 restaurants on the top floor food court. It is an easy walk to the famous Dom Bosco shrine and not to far from the cathedral and bus and metro stations. Only one of the two elevators was operation for the entire 3 days of my stay but it did not seem to matter much as I got the feeling that the hotel was not very full. A male night receptionist spoke fluent English and said he had lived in England for several years. Most of the hotel staff were pleasant. The breakfast buffet was very extensive, fresh and tasty with hot and cold items and lots of local fresh fruits.
Hotel close to Shopping Mall, area was not safe by night.The hotel staff usually do not give rooms before 1:00 or 2:00 PM. Some of us wait 8 hours for the room.
One unpleasant surprise was the charges for using the internet. There is no free internet in the rooms or in the public areas of the hotel.
Using the TV was very difficult and odd. There was no information about the need of two different controllers and the free channels were very limited and no CNN or international new.
