“Perfect view of Arenal Volcano”

Enjoyed our stay. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. We had a perfect view from our bed and then from the rocking chairs of the volcano. Only downsize was location to town. You need a car or you will need to call a taxi.

“fantastic location and great hotel”

I drove into Hotel Arenal Manoa not knowing what to expect but was very pleasantly surprised by the location, cleanliness and room quality of the hotel. The hotel is set up with air conditioned, modern bungalows. Landscaping is beautifiul and free breakfast very good. The tour desk is very helpful and all tours can be booked straight from the hotel. Bring a long distance calling card if calling outside the us. Fantastic experience and would liked to have stayed longer than 3 days but hotel was full

“Best Arenal Volcano view, beautiful gardens, relaxing atmosphere, friendly staff”

We chose this hotel after reading reviews in Tripadvisor and were very happy wtih hotel. an amazing view of the volcano from the glass door of our bedroom, tropical gradens with flowers, birds and butterflies. staff were very friendly and helpful. we spent the evenings at the hot water pool drinking margaritas from the bar in the pool. Dont miss the hanging bridges at the end of the Dam bridge, over the Arenal lake. we recomend to take a guide in order to understand the rainforest .

“Very Good Hotel”

Very nice hotel. Great view of the Volcano from the rooms and the restaurant. Great pools. Hotel service could improve, but it was a nice stay. I would go back in the future.

Area recommendations
If you like bird watching, take a tour of the lake. There is a great variety of birds and you can see another side of the Volcano.

“Beautiful Hotel and Grounds”

The hotel is situated at the foot of the Arenal volcano and every bungalow is tucked away amongst the lush plant life. The restaurant pavillion and bar is set back and the view is pretty. We enjoyed the hot spring pool. The other pool was beautiful as well. The atmosphere is very relaxed and serene. Try and request a bungalow by the regular pool area where they are set up a little father on a hill and the views are better. We had one by reception area which was not as nice as the others. The front desk needs to work on their welcoming skills, I was immediately put off by the attitude of the girl upon check in. The bungalows themselves were immaculate and beautiful with an entire wall that is all glass and opens up to the view of the volcano and small patio.

Area recommendations
We went into the town nearby and had a nice dinner for a very reasonable price. The town itself had some shops and we hooked up a zip line tour for one third the advertised price online, so if you are thinking about zip lining I suggest you negotiate your price with the guys on the sidewalk in town. We got it for $35 a piece and it was over an hour long.

“Travelling with small children”

We chose to hire private transportation through the hotel over expedias. The price was fair and upon arrival the staff was very friendly. The first night we ate at the hotel restaurant. There weren't many choices for our children of 3 and 1 and the food was overpriced so we did not eat there again. The free breakfast was yummy every morning and the gardens on site were gorgeous. Our room was exaclty as the pictures on-line. We had privacy and good assistance throughout our stay. The airconditioner was a little crazy...it would freeze up and make ice cubes that would fall loudly onto the floor. One night it made really loud noises and we turned it off. The refigerator had to be replaced in our room because it wasn't working. The girl at the front desk tried to argue a little about it, saying that it was working until maintenance came and replaced it. The hotel was lovely for the price and it was fairly cheap to catch a cab to town. The staff did seem to be a little less helpful toward the end of our stay but I have no real complaints. When we were checking out the girl at the front desk did try to charge us for some items that were paid for in advance. We refused and she changed the amount. Our family had a great time and I would stay there again....just make sure when you checkout you read your bill! Our kids had a great time and the pool was extremely nice!

“Great value, beautiful realxing atmosphere”

Wonderful place to stay. Would recommend to anyone. Only negative is that the sign is a little hidden off the road. We had a hard time finding the turn off.

“Paradise!!”

Arenal Manoa was much nicer than expected. There website photos do not do them justice. The grounds were beautiful, the rooms modern and the location was excellent. The perfect view of the volcano from the bed every morning was like waking up in paradise. The resort is 1km off the main road so it is quiter and more private then most resorts in the immediate area. I would recommend renting a SUV with GPS however to get into town and save money on taking tours/sightseeing. However driving in Costa Rica should only be done during the day and by someone who is experienced. The restaurant at the resort is nice but pricey. I would recommend taking the 10 minute drive into town where they are a large selection of places to eat and better priced. Arenal Manoa is a place I would book again and again.

Traveller's tip
Rent a SUV with GPS. The resort is a 2 and 1/2 hour drive from the airport and it is alot cheaper to rent a SUV for the week then to pay for roundtrip shuttle for two people. Also hotel tours are very expensive so having your own vehicle saves alot of money. GPS is necessary because they are very few road signs if any.

“Amazing resort, beautiful views, luxurious”

We would recommend this hotel to anyone going to La Fortuna and we would definitely stay there again! The resort was beautiful, with your own cabin and wonderful garden. Our cabin, the restaurant and pools had beautiful views of the volcano with the lush forest backgrounds. Wonderful for a family trip or even a romantic getaway!
