"Hotel was holding a large separate function which initially meant we were denied a table in the restaurant - we were on a cycling tour, staying one night, so this was frustrating after a long day's ride. However, on reflection, we were granted a table. Food was superb, facilities were great, once the initial restaurant hurdle was over, we found the staff friendly and helpful."

"For the money we spent I was expecting a little more luxury. The pool was nice and our bedroom was spacious. However the staff were inexperienced and the overall feel of the property was that it could do with a little tlc. The restaurant food was okay but nothing special."

"AIR CONDITIONNING SET TO 24DegC. Too hot! Because of flying bugs, we couldnt open the window, so we had to sweat. At night, the walk from the car park to the hotel is in the total obscurity. No solar powered light installed for the guest's security. These 2 issues are easy to fix."

"This is a very attractive hotel in a lovely setting, in the town of Montreuil-Bellay. The facilities are very good, but a restaurant for evening would be a definite bonus. "Our stay was relaxing and there was a very friendly welcome from the owners. One evening we had a reception with other guests, both French and English, in the beautiful, large garden. We sampled sparkling wine from Saumur. Our room had a door leading to the garden where we had our own table and chairs.The decor was authentic 18th century perhaps and all the furniture and ornaments were in keeping with a chateaux.
