“Small and basic”
Staff were extremely helpful and pleasant, but the hotel has seen better days. It is located on old Route 66, and it seems it may have been built in the 40s or 50s - it is an old style motor court motel, at the far end of Route 66 from downtown - practically in the next town over (but quite near the expressway, I-40). It was a 15-minute drive to anything worth seeing, which was inconvenient - if you didn't have a car, it would be an impossible location, as Albuquerque's public transit is not very good.
The room was tiny, but clean, although linens were rough and threadbare. Shower, no tub in the bathroom, but again, really clean.
There was also a pool out front which I didn't use but I saw others using - it looking quite nice.
I ended up cutting my stay short to move to a more convenient hotel location. There is a Waffle House next door, and a shopping mall across the street, so there are some services. But I didn't go to Albuquerque for a shopping mall.
In short, the hotel has seen better days, but it is very clean and the staff are pleasant. A basic stay in a tiny room, but at a good price.
