Form N.A standard, i would say that this hotel hotel is a 4 star category.
We stayed in the hotel 3 nights in 2 separate occasion.
That being said, this hotel is everything we expected from an hotel in our visit to Rajasthan. It was previously a real palace and they kept a lot of the original flavor. But we hare in 2014 and they renovated the hotel to make it actual with a bit of luxury. The garden and the pool are speechless and we felt really comfortable. The staff and the welcome were also really great. On our way back to Delhi we had to stop in Jaipur and were really happy to stop back at the Jai Mahal.
Just spent a couple of nights here. Comfy and clean rooms and hotel in general. Hot showers but had to make sure shower curtain was positioned carefully else bathroom floor was soon swimming. Our bedroom view was of the wall of the hotel next door.
Excellent free WiFi just had to remember to go to reception to get a ticket with log on details for a 2 hour slot. you needed a separate ticket for each device, but they were happy to give you multi tickets.
Food was good and service from all staff excellent.
Agra, like most of India, is very 'shanty town' and this hotel is a little gem. I arranged for the hotel driver to pick me up from the station ,drop bags off at hotel then drive me around to all the sites. This service is needed as you are with someone who knows the area and you have the safety of the car. The driver did a great job and took me to a road side restaurant where I got some amazing Indian food. I was then dropped off at the hotel for the evening had more amazing food from the hotel restaurant. The food is delicious and the veggie is the best option. The hotel is acceptable by Indian standards and I would recommend it.
Very close to the Taj Mahal this hotel offers an excellent quality to price ratio. Rooms are new and comfortable, staff is kind and attentive and restaurant is good with a choice of continental and Indian courses.
Wifi is a bit slow but nothing to complain.
1. nice room
2. Good location very close to Taj
3. Courteous staff
4. Dinner (non veg) was very good we ordered khada masala ghosht in the room.
1. The most difficult task was to find this hotel, no arrows, no boards , no indication is given to find the hotel.
2. The pictures shown in the site are exaggerated
3. very small rooms with ac not working...they have a central lock in the ac for which you have to call someone again and again to set the room temperature. Our room was boiling throughout the stay.
4. Horrible Buffet breakfast...no variety no taste
5. The person who served us dinner was very rude...no manners at all. Maybe he had a bad day.
What can I say we arrived and greeted with juice and flower necklace perfect after a drive to get here. Safe and secure with guards at gate. Receptionist very helpful young chap nothing too much trouble. Room spacious with tea coffe and water complimentary. 80 year old bath added to charm!! Location no issues but we had a driver/taxi - not far from Taj and other sites. Grounds are exceptional with big lawn to have afternoon tea, a swimming pool set back with wait or service from the awesome latesh, evening entertainment from amazing sitar player who was so eager to explain types of music- a real treat. Puppet show in the evening with 2 locals (one child on drum) very funny performance. Food nice and recommend the dal! Minor niggle pigeon poo around edges of seats but that is it. A true regency style and relaxing stay. Very good hotel strongly recommend. Thank you
Being a heritage hotel in the city of Agra Grand Imperial Hotel in Agra has been serving discerning travelers since 1905 …More
a great hotel with great value. its not the cheapest but these have facilities aligned to their ciost ie cheap and bad. this hotel was great and althpough not in oberoi class the location and facilities are more than you could want for at the price. the pool is the icing on the cake, after a day walking around the sights to jump into the cool water is worth a million. i would stay again any time, good facilities, walking distance of the taj and shops and coffee house opposite. another thing to consider when in agra try the green park restaurant bar. not far from hotel, very informal you can sit in a grassy garden and enjoy a beer away from the noise and dust of the street.
