"Hotel was adequate for an overnight stay travelling South - arrived late at night and only needed a bed. We specifically chose this hotel because of the secure car park. We arrived at 11pm and took the last space in the car park which was not that big. Others arriving after us had to park outside. I'm also not sure the car park was locked - it was open when we arrived and still open when we left at 5am. Also, we were charged on check-in by the hotel even though we had pre-booked through...

"A very beautiful and clearly old hotel set in an amazing medieval village. Hotel was very basic with lots of character. Some aspects need updating. Very dark bathroom decor and some squashed insects on the walls. Parking almost impossible near hotel but available a short walk away on the main road. "

"We arrived late to a note from Anne & Frank on reception, with our key and room number and although our room was a little worn (mainly the bathroom), it was spotlessly clean and the beds, pillows and bed linen very good quality. Anne was lovely and greeted us at breakfast, which was plentiful and fresh. All in all a good experience, would definitely use again as a stopover 😊."

"We booked the hotel on Expedia around 10pm by 11:30pm we were at the hotel. We were not able to check in since there was nobody at the reception. We called the number provided, only to see the phone ringing at the reception but nobody to answer it. So we were left without hotel and 3 small children in the car. Obviously money was deducted from our account and now we have to chase the refund. I would be careful booking this hotel!!!"

"This hotel needs to be moved into the 21st century. The initial view of the hotel from the outside is good, but that’s about all that is good about it. You struggle to find the entrance to Reception, when checking in you are given your room key that doubles up as a weapon thanks to the size and weight of the keyring. The lift was not working so cannot comment on that but the carpet on the stairs has to be at least 30 years old, so thread bare and worn (seen better carpet in derelict properties)....
