I was in Dominica for one week and stayed at Serenity Lodges for the whole of my stay. There are three lodges and a dining area attached to the owners accommodation. Whilst the lodges offer relatively simple facilities they are set in a wonderful location. They are kept spotlessly clean by the owners Carina, Lester and their new assistant Mary. I had breakfast and dinner at the lodges on most days and I advised Carina prior to booking that I required a vegetarian option for all meals. I can honestly say that Carina went to great lengths to provide excellent variety for the meals and all from local produce. Carina's cooking was delicious!
I also had some great conversations with Lester who provided lot's of information to me about Dominica that enabled me to fill holes in my knowledge about the island.
If one is looking for spotlessly clean accommodation at a reasonable price in Dominica then Serenity Lodges are well worth considering.
Warm and friendly staff, comfortable rooms, all at an excellent price -- this hotel has it all. The owner generally greets guests personally and is highly involved in making sure her guests enjoy their stay. And she is an excellent cook -- the best fish I've had!
These apartments are part of the Calibishies lodges and are about a 10 minute walk uphill from the lodges and restuarant. You need a car to get to them if you are not keen on a short but strenuous walk. The view is superb! The kitchens were minimally appointed and the can opener did not work well. I would stay in the lodges which also have kitchenettes and adjoin the restuarant, bar and pool. Staff is excellent.

We very much enjoyed our stay here. We found the pool clean and pleasant. The rooms, although simple, are spotless and cheerful. You'll find lots of hot water, organic herb soap, and a wonderful view of the Caribbean from each room. Although there is no air conditioning, we found the ceiling fan to be sufficient (even in summer). The restaurant's food is superb, featuring such delights as barracuda, pineapple chicken, coconut ice cream, local calaloo soup, etc. The owners were always available and helpful. Do not expect a luxury resort in a big tourist area. Be aware that the beach is a short walk away, there is no television, and the hotel is in a rather rural setting. That's what we wanted in a trip to Dominica, and I would certainly stay here again.
