(1,002 reviews) Room very noisy at night! There was a consistent humming noise in room which got worse then went away then started up again got worse then went away! Not sure if it was outside or in hotel. Alley way a night that the room over looked had people shouting and being noisy! Badly fitted duet quilt that in the end i took off bed and just had duet cover over us!,but couldn't believe the disgusting quilt underneath the cover! Looked as though it had been out on the street! Very discoloured and large stains! which we have photos of! (29 reviews) I really like the people that run it ...you can have a laugh and a joke and their professional. I love the quirky old fashioned styling but it's done in a modern way. The menu seemed basic but the quality of the food was fantastic everybody should try the prawns starter !!! Two dislikes Coffee machine in room too small difficult to use. The noise of extractor fans outside the windows was a constant drone but okay if you're used to noise and not from the quiet countryside. (39 reviews) The Cridford Inn is a wonderful, very old, country inn with a thatched roof, flagstones, dark oak everywhere....dripping with character. It's a little off the beaten track but worth the effort. Unfortunately we hadn't reserved a table for dinner so had to be squeezed in at the end of evening service, but the food was excellent and worth the wait. The same applied to breakfast....we hadn't booked a breakfast slot and so were put at the back of the queue. We must have missed something that told us we had to book a breakfast timing before arrival....we'll know next time. Our large and atmospheric room was chilly because the weather happened to be awful and it took quite a while for the heating to be able to work, which made the room less appealing than it might otherwise have been. These are minor irritations.....on the plus side, the owners and their team (rushed off their feet because the place is obviously popular) couldn't have been friendlier. Food was very good, the (Jail Ale) beer of top quality and, joy of joys, there's EV charging on site (a real bonus considering that the Cridford is fairly remote). On a warm summer's evening, alerted to the fact that we needed to reserve a breakfast time and having also thought to have reserved a time for dinner, this would have been a blissful stay; little niggles like the heating, not being able to have breakfast when we wanted and a few imperfections in room cleaning took the shine off a little, but we would definitely book again.
