This hotel is quite close to the train station, so can save hauling your luggage over cobblestones of old Riga, and it’s cheap. The building, rooms and amenities are very dated, not nice. It’s hard climbing into the tub, because it is so high, and took forever to drain. The front desk person has some nasty attitude, and the breakfast restaurant is dungeon-like; food was ok.

Lovely old fashioned styling, massive suite style rooms, huge black bath, comfy beds, nice, helpful staff. breakfast was basic but fine. Great location. I’d come back.

This is a great hotel for living out your medieval fantasies while still enjoying excellent water pressure.

Very basic room but clean, within the old town so close to everything you want to see. Staff on the desk were fantastic! Excellent price.
