We enjoyed Pekelhaaring.

Staff and service were great.

The Amsterdam Canal suites are a great way to feel like you have your own apartment in the city. We found the bed and furniture very comfortable. Closing the blinds at night made for peaceful rest as long as the people above you are not walking around. Footsteps and furniture moving on the floor are noticeable from above if you are just trying for silence. We did not hear other sounds. Kitchen has needed equipment for preparing simple meals. TV and Internet were sufficient to downtime entertainment. We had some issues with cleanliness of the suite, but we were able to work with management to address timely. Shower is hot and water pressure good. We were happy with the location and it made for easy exploration of the city. Nearby restaurants, bakeries and grocery shopping were great.

Historic and absolutely beautiful! A perfect spot to explore all Amsterdam has to offer.

Lovely stay with exceptional service! We had a wonderful experience at this hotel. The location is perfect — right in the city centre, surrounded by plenty of food options, dessert spots, and a great selection of shops and souvenir stores. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. Karim checked us both in and out, and I have to say, what a kind and helpful person. We needed directions to both the post office and the drug store, and the team went above and beyond to make sure we got where we needed to go. We were very pleased with our stay and would absolutely return. I’d happily recommend this hotel to any of my friends and family!

I would actually give this place a 3.5 rating. It was better than ok. The property itself was nicely laid out. It was centrally located (4 minute walk to grocery store), bus stop right out front. Free lockers were very helpful. Our issue had to do with problems in the room. The door to the main bedroom wouldn't close (there was an open shower which couldn't be used due to lack of privacy). The stove top didn’t work. The large window in the living space wouldn't close properly, letting in a draught and rattling throughout the night during a storm. Lastly the main bathroom sink had an extremely slow drain. These are all maintenance issues, which could have been sorted before our arrival.

Really lovely apartment in a great location. We stayed with a 6 month old baby and 4 year old and it was ideal for quiet. If you had a kid between these ages the stairs might not have been safe but for us it wasn't a problem. Kitchen was helpful and well equipped for basic meals and a nice big fridge and dining table. Really close to bus and tram stops for all the tourist spots and cheap to get to central station / museums etc.
