Eastern Norway Mountain Holidays

The location is quiet and historic, by the large ski jump used in the Olympics years ago. And on a hill above Oslo. It is near (walkable) a train into the city for commuting. There are very many lovely and cozy public areas to curl up by a fire, and even a library. The included breakfast buffet was very good with many hot and cold choices. The reception staff, especially Tommy, who checked us in, was very friendly and helpful. He even led us a short distance to show us the stairs. There is a sauna, but the outdoor pool, which was still open Sept. 12, was too cold for swimming. Our room had a spacious outdoor area. This is a fine hotel and less expensive than in central Oslo.

Let's start with the positives. The staff vas helpfult and good. The breakfast was one of the best ones I have had in a hotel, but the deserts are just way to sweet, cut down on the sugar guys. The gym is very good and has everything you need for a nice exercise. The pool and sauna is nice but unfortunately very greedy and stupid to charge extra to use them. The hotel is already expensive and off location as it is, at least you should have the pool and sauna included in the price like every other hotel on planet earth, whats the point in visiting this hotel otherwise if you need to pay extra for almost everything except the room? Overall I would rate it a strong 3.5 because of the nice breakfast and staff.

friendly & helpful staff, lovely clean rooms! wonderful, comfortable stay. one thing though… one pillow for each bed wasn’t enough. our necks hurt!

A beautiful property above Oslo in the mountains. Easy access to the metro to Oslo city center. The staff was wonderful and the hotel was lovely and a very quiet location. The restaurant was wonderful and the breakfast had a variety of delicious options.
