Beautiful property on an old military base near the Golden Gate Bridge. It’s simple and a bit rustic (so don’t expect high end luxury in the rooms) but the restaurant is very good, the views are beautiful, the staff is helpful, it’s in the middle of eucalyptus trees. You need a car to get there. They have complimentary yoga classes. Not great for accessibility as there are hills and stairs. Very relaxing base from which to explore the Bay Area

It’s a nice hotel but it’s definitely not worth the price of the room. The pool is super tiny and will be overtaken by children. The only restaurant onsite is priced extremely high and the service is terrible; slow, expect to sit there for 2.5 hours. I also ordered a $130 bottle of prosecco but paid around $193 for it due to charges of having it delivered to my room, (from the restaurant onsite?) Paying $63 extra for having delivered what you order from the menu in your room is absurd. I have stayed at the Four Seasons, The Ritz, etc. and none have been as desperately money hungry as Oceana. I paid about $1050 for the one night and honestly people could get a way better experience for that price anywhere else. Expect to get charged for breathing at Oceana. I wouldn’t go back there.

You want someone who normally stays at Four Seasons/Mandarin Oriental to immediately understand: this hotel may be marketed and priced as luxury, but it does not deliver the type of luxury you are expecting. Keep the specific incidents because they make the criticism credible. If you’re a Four Seasons or Mandarin Oriental person, I would not recommend 1 Hotel San Francisco. The hotel may occupy a similar price bracket, but in my experience, it does not offer a comparable standard of service, attention to detail or refinement. The emphasis here is clearly on eco-conscious design rather than traditional five-star hospitality, and I wish I had understood that distinction before booking. Service felt inconsistent from arrival. I watched another guest receive a considerably more thorough introduction to the hotel than I did. Throughout my stay, there were also none of the small anticipatory touches I associate with genuine luxury hospitality — even something as simple as assistance opening the car door wasn’t consistent. Housekeeping reinforced that impression. The bed was made, but belongings I had left around the room remained scattered rather than being thoughtfully arranged. Of course, I don’t expect staff to interfere with personal possessions, but luxury housekeeping usually has a noticeable level of care and presentation that was absent here. Overhyped and overpriced. Rooms are barely a step up from a refurbished Motel 6, terrible sound proofing room to room. Surrounded by screaming kids including the jerks next door who screamed from 4:00 am until 5/30 am. Don't waste your money on this place unless you like lining up for evreything, terse staff and relatively poor customer service given the outlandish rates they charge for a room. The highlight of the whole trip was Summwr who checked us in. Otherwise an entirely forgettable stay that doesn't come close to justifying $1500 a night. I'll keep my money for a Four Seasons or Ritz Carleton next time.

I gave one star in order to rate bc I had to I arrived at the hotel only to find it closed with a sign on the door. Unfortunately I had flown in from New Mexico and had left my phone in the Albuquerque Airport. I had no way to contact Anyone. Fortunately I was able to get accommodations through a friend who booked me a reservation and also had my phone shipped via Fed Ex next day delivery to their home and was brought to me that day. I am hoping to get a refund for this room
